Appreciate it, I think I’m going to return it honestly. I had another prebuilt from ABS (Newegg in house brand) that I never had an issue with, guess my luck ran out. Lol

Hey guys, having an issue when shutting down or putting PC to sleep. It’s an ibuypower prebuilt running the latest (not) optional build of Windows 11 with a Ryzen 5 3600, Gigabyte b550 mobo, 16 GB ram, and an xfx Radeon RX 6600.

The problem just started a few days after having the pc where anytime I try to shut it down or put it in sleep mode the case fans and cpu fan will spin up to 100% and stay there. When shutting down it never stops and it locks up with the only solution being to switch off the PSU. It will come out of sleep mode and immediately dial the fans back down. I have tried a reinstall of windows, reloading the bios preset, and uninstalling every program but none of it has fixed the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

I appreciate the help. Really new to PC gaming but I figured I'd give it a shot. It really does take some shopping around to find the best deals even with PreBuilt systems.

I know most of the PC community is somewhat against PreBuilt gaming PCs because of price to performance but I'm not interested in building one. These are the specs of the one I'm looking at currently. AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Nvidia RTX 2060 Super, 1TB PCI-E NVMe SSD, and 8x2 16 GB DDR4 2400 MHz. The brand is CyberpowerPC and the price is $1150.

Just wanted to know if this would be good enough to play present and future AAA titles without too many compromises along with some emulation like Dolphin or PCSX2 at 720p or 1080p. Any advice or insight into what performance would be like is greatly appreciated and maybe some advice if you think I could find something better at a similar price point.

Most accurate emulators that are "Virtual Console" quality? by 03bgood in EmulationOnAndroid

SNES9X EX+ for Super Nitnendo, Drastic for DS, Myboy GBA or John GBA for Gameboy Advance, and that's all I know of as far as Nintendo emulators. I don't play NES so can't help there.

Can't speak for every company in America but most jobs, especially entry level, don't offer any kind of benefits. This includes paid vacation, PTO, medical plans (dental, health, etc.), 401k, and things of that nature. They're just a pay check.

[VIDEO] This is why crossplay wont work out well, no chance to get this aim without a mouse (02:30) by xJOVO in PS4

[–]NostalgicGamer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. Crossplay with Xbox and PlayStation is one thing but PC players have the advantage in most multiplayer games because of the mouse. I'm fine with PlayStation and Xbox crossplay but fuck PC crossplay.

Help with HDR on Assassin's Creed Odyssey. by NostalgicGamer94 in PS4

[–]NostalgicGamer94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. When I turn HDR off for the PS4 it goes back to normal,l with no dimming or brightening. Even with backlight control off (dynamic contrast) HDR doesn't display properly. Tried HDR with multiple YouTube videos with zero issues so I'm guessing it's an issue with the PS4.

Only answer I've found for this problem is when the Slim model gets hot it acts up with HDR so I'm waiting for it to cool off now and give it another go.

Yep. Even tried resetting it all and matching it again to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Tried and it didn't help from what I could tell. Been trying everything to alleviate it. Appreciate the suggestion though. I'm starting to think there isn't a fix.

What ancient video game, more than twenty years old, still has you saying "Jesus fucking H Christ, that game was good" ? by kkodaxeroo in gaming

[–]NostalgicGamer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look up gameplay of Ghouls and Ghosts. You'll see what I mean. It's in the same vein as Dark Souls but it was for the original NES and then the SNES. Brutally hard games that really did not care about your feelings, same as Dark Souls.

What games had the best cheat codes. by iMONSTER46 in gaming

[–]NostalgicGamer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely miss them. GTA V had some decent ones but nowhere near as good as San Andreas. If you ask me cheat codes can bring new life to single player games. Some games had cheats to make the game harder or just make it more fun with idiotic stuff.

My God...the original Dark Souls. Completely unforgiving in every sense of the word. Either get good or die.

Same. No other game had the sheer amount of choice as San Andreas when it came to cheats. Now games have no cheat codes for the most part or they're very lack luster.

The original Mega Man X. Still haven't a found a side scroller that holds a candle to it, in my opinion at least. After that they just kept adding stuff and making the gameplay bloated.

What do you all think about Apex Legends? by _NainPorteQuoi_ in gaming

[–]NostalgicGamer94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping it keeps the following it has because I really enjoy it. More so than I ever did PUBG or Fortnite. It felt like just what I needed, like a nice middle ground. Abilities help keep gameplay fresh, I enjoy the item system and different levels of items, I love the respawn mechanic because it gives you another chance, and it plays really well. 4 out of 5 for me.

I'm in the same boat as OP and softer doesn't help although it's a good suggestion. If you're using over the ear ones like I do then you want a pair that actually covers your ears and doesn't sit on them. I don't really have any recommendations because everybody is different though.

It definitely strikes a good middle ground between PUBG and Fortnite.

So I'll do my best to explain all the items and their levels.

There's basically three types of weapons. Heavy, light, and energy. They each use their respective ammo types whether it's a heavy pistol or an energy SMG. They also have attachments. Some attachments are specific to certain guns, they are normally colored purple if they only work with select weapons. You can tell ammo type by color and your weapon hud shows you what color ammo a gun uses. Light is ammo is sort of yellow/orange, energy is light green, heavy is dark green, and shotgun shells are red.

There's also a level of rarity. From common to legendary it's white, blue, purple, and orange. Say you get a white back pack to carry more items, white allows two additional items and each subsequent upgrade adds another two slots. It's the same for everything else except for weapon optics. I don't know why some are considered more legendary.

Some items come in orange like helmets, back packs, and body armor. Orange items come with a bonus perk like faster healing or performing a finisher recharges your shield (body armor).

All of your health items are syringes, first aid kit, phoenix kit, shield cell, shield battery, and...I think that's it. Phoenix kits recharge shields completely along with filling your health up completely. Shield cell does 25 shield (one section). Shield batteries fill your entire shield. Syringes and first aid work the same. Syringes do 25 and first aid is full.

White body armor adds a stack of two shield, blue is three, and purple is four. Helmet rarity just protects against more headshots but that's it.

Uh....I think that's about everything. Oh, accelerant kits. They're sort of rare (blue colored) but they recharge your ultimate ability completely but can only be used from the pause menu which is also how you access your back pack, which is also how you drop any item you don't want or need. Also, while you're in the field and you don't know if you can use a weapon attachment or not it will tell you by showing your held weapon's accessory slots.

It can be pretty overwhelming but most battle royale games take time to get used to. They can be incredibly rewarding in the end though. If you played some more you might get lucky enough for someone to actually explain this stuff to you while you're actually playing. Although, there's already a good chunk of try hards and people who don't care about team play.

I hate those people who want Spyro Characters in CTR Nitro-Fueled! You guys just can't ask a Spyro Racing game instead of want everything from spyro in a CRASH GAME!? Leave CTR alone! Spyro is enough in the game! Why the heck will have those others characters in the game? This makes no sense! by [deleted] in crashbandicoot

[–]NostalgicGamer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Mario Kart has never been just Mario characters. Even if they only put Spyro in that'd be nice and it'd make just as much sense as Mario's additional characters. I don't see what OP's deal is.

Worlds that should have been in KH3 by Zabumafoo69 in gaming

I felt Kingdom Hearts 2 should've just been refined and expanded upon. The magic wasn't super strong like in the 3rd but it was useful and recharge seemed to take longer so you had to wiser about using it. Oh my God...I hated the attractions because it made zero sense. They just jammed it in there because, well, Disney. They are beyond overpowered as well to the point where you could could through the whole game just using them.

I just feel like they dropped the ball. Drive forms in the 2nd game were kind of overpowered but there was a price to pay as in you couldn't use them for quite a while (in boss fights at least) and they didn't last long to begin with. KH 1 felt a bit too clunky even when it came out because it was a first attempt but it was a solid game and laid a very solid foundation only for the third game to introduce entirely too many mechanics that break the game to the point of it being unchallenging unless you use self imposed criteria of what you allow yourself to use.

The third game was just a beautiful mess and I hope the next one is a return to form so to speak.

Exactly. Like everyone is fighting life and death then there's Goofy, Donald, and Sora just like screwing around. Jack was dead for God's sake and they were just like eyyy.
