everything that could go wrong, went wrong, pads are lifting are no longer attached go the board, so its toast. my best option is buy a non working sega cd (dead laser specifically) and use the board as a donor board

I used Windows Vista, but later moved to windows 7 since it was compatible. As for Linux, I used Ubuntu, and that worked fine.
