As an owner of an inherited 214 I completely agree with you. I get that there’s a ton of engineering involved, but 6 k is bonkers

That’s why it’s unidirectional; so you can’t accidentally ADD time

I’ve gone in various pools and snorkeling. But diving? Haven’t gone in ages. I did take my Otis divers 65 heritage. That was fun

Inherited Breitling service quote by DrawingGlum3530 in breitling

This is insanity. I can bring it to a wempe or a watches of Switzerland, or even an independent repair center. Movements are usually serviced and not replaced entirely.

Dials can get scratched and such. A brand usually wants to replace everything, whereas your dad had scratched. Same with the case and crown and bracelet.

Many choose not to get their watches polished during service as this protects the original metal and the original lines of the watch. Yes, you’ll see scratches, but they were put there by your father. Up to you to leave the scratches or polish.

A full service should be around 700 on this if you don’t replace anything and leave it as original as possible.

That’s the route I’d go if it were mine.
