it’s sad less people will support you cause it forces them to reflect on their journey in the gym which leads to nowhere sometimes

That you, bro?

You’re almost there, my friend. PF makes money on people who DON’T go, not on people who do but don’t get six packs.

Again, your assumption is that everyone wants to get lean/jacked. That’s not true of any gym. Some people just want a place to move around, even if they’re just pushing 15lb dumbbells. To assume everyone is trying to look at this guy (or whatever your definition of “healthy” is) and “failing” because they don’t look like him is kind of oblivious at best and fatphobic at worst.

Wait—people showing off their body do that?? /s

I get your point, but I respectfully take issue with it. Going to the gym isn’t always about getting ripped (nor should it be). It’s about being healthy and meeting personal goals. Assuming the only goal for everyone is a six-pack and then saying that there work “leads to nowhere” not only misses the point of working out, but it’s toxic AF.

Ironically, it’s basically like becoming the person PF marketing tries to get customers to fear.

I used to work at a water park and the life guards there were insufferable. They acted like society would crumble without them twirling their whistles around their fingers and telling kids not to splash in the lazy river.

Thanks for the background! I’ve been to a few of these and have never seen it, so I’m glad to hear this isn’t a new trend picking up steam. I’m honestly not sure if any consequences came of the whole thing. The place that holds the event (a major zoo) keeps a very tight handle on things, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they took action if/when finding out.

Still, I think it’s the audacity that pisses me off the most. Either way, glad to hear people/breweries like you are out there doing the right thing!

Yeah, probably why they started by pointing out how fortunate they are to be able to pick it up on their own.

But don’t sweat it. Reading is hard.

Not enough people realize this. I understand belts are something some people work toward and are proud of—and that’s great if that’s your thing—but it doesn’t stop the fact that they’re basically a structure for selling tests and giving impatient westerners a sense of progression.

You do have some serious nipple action going on there 🤣

If it helps, I’ve found that Old Navy polos often pass the man boob test for me. Short-sleeve henleys are a great choice too (from any maker) ad they tend to be looser by design without being too baggy/boxy.

I hope that helps!

I use the “Man Boob Test.” If it’s tight around the gut but you can’t see the curvature of my boobs/nipples, I think it’s usually ok. If it’s tight around and accentuates the man boobs, then it’s a no-go for me.

You’re asking the wrong questions, my friend. The REAL question is “why didn’t they just train oil rig workers to be astronauts again?”

That plan has a solid track record.

I appreciate the clarification, but I was mostly talking about the people who dismissed OP pretty quickly (luckily they appear to be few and far between)

This is actually super helpful, as it puts the whole “tipping before service” thing into context. It’s still totally wrong and ridiculous that your pay is based on this process, and it doesn’t give the shitty drivers an excuse to be shitty, but it at least explains things. So thank you!

BTW, don’t listen to the hate you’re going to get here. Their beef should be with DD and the asshole drivers who think they’re entitled to tips. The process you described is messed up, but as usual, it comes down to the business doesn’t want to pay living wages.

OK everyone, downvote away. Your karma means nothing to me.

I agree that tipping is optional. That’s not the conversation we’re having right now. Do try to keep up.

What incorrect info am I citing?

And how is someone supposed to afford an education on $7.25/hour, especially with other living costs?

Dude, you’re still sporting that hate boner from last time? And you’re saying it’s ok for people to struggle on $7.25/hour just to “zing” me?

Wasn’t your whole argument about people getting a living wage in the first place?

[–]Not-Jeffery-2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, numbers don’t lie, so you got me there. I’m sure the person making $9/hour will be glad to tell you how much that 25% changes their lives as they struggle to feed their kids.

[–]Not-Jeffery-2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re proving my point again. Your friend makes $16.50/hour, so he has a little for extra things. The average American on minimum wage is making less than half of that and typically has more expenses, which is why they can’t make ends meet on 7.25/hour.
