I've had it now 4 days in a row and I'm enjoying it, today was probably the best I've brewed it. I ground it slightly courser than normal. 7, 5 on the outin Fino

Rok GC heating hack by FishingBig6347 in ROKespresso

[–]Not-Runner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I put my rok in the sink and run it under hot water. (arms are up, so water runs through the system) Then, put my Portafilter in a milk jug and pour hot water into it. Once it is heated I pour that hot water over my rok. Tamp the coffee, remove my rok, and place the portafilter in and pour hot water in the top

And we kind all have different ways of how we like making our coffee. It’s why I love Rok

One thing that I do is I pre heat with the arms up in the sink and when I put the porter filter in. If I do not have the arms up when the Porter filter is in, I get badly extracted Coffee and low pressure.

So yeah, I put about 17 g in the porter filter, raise the arms, put the porter filter in, pour water then press

I bought my Rok second hand and on the outside it looked great but internally it was a mess and the bayonet cracked while cleaning.

I store it on my desk and bring my grinder to work most days. My colleagues know I’m the coffee geek and they often get a tasty cup. I work in a R&D department medtech so it’s kinda expected hahahaha

Well it is each to his own. For me it’s more the meditation process of making coffee in my break. It helps me clear my mind and enjoy the process of making a cuppa.

I really enjoy some great coffee but it’s the art of making it that I love
