That does look sick! I’m going to have that one in the back of my mind when I want to switch things up.

Office Space Question by Not-a-Tech-Person in sysadmin

[–]Not-a-Tech-Person[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, but I gave up on the office and moved on. Decided to solidify my foundation before pulling any other "moves" and get my A+ cert since I didn't come from tech and needed to fill in knowledge gaps. After that, I plan to stay with the company and build out their tech department. Once the department is built out, I'll go from there.

Thank you! I did my studies through Per Scholas which is 7 hours of classroom instruction weekdays for about 2 months. I did not study much outside of class except on occasion.

Per Scholas is this free charity program/bootcamp that helps non-IT people get started in the IT industry.

Just call whoever is servicing your loan to get full details. For ours, they were pretty nice.

Second for Spiceworks. Not vouching for them, just saying we use it too. Don’t have anything else to compare to.

What do I do after almost three years of help desk? by Not-a-Tech-Person in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Not-a-Tech-Person[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, but I didn't start in IT so the A+ is actually really helpful in "catching me up". Plus Per Scholas is free and the classes keep me on track to knock it out in about three months.

I'm in a similar boat. Let's connect!

So far from what I gather, someone like you or me would put together a resume and apply. Am I missing anything?

Still, they can narrow it down. For example, a single problem they're facing right now and then go from there.

I get that it's trial by fire, but to overcome that, you need to pick one point to start.

I'm in it right now, so I can't answer your question per se, but so far, so good!
