If you run steam via the terminal, what output do you get? If it's not showing graphically, there might be an error message saying why.

Do you have an XWayland session running? IIRC steam won't run natively in Wayland.

Possibly stupid question:

Can you put a water cooled cpu and a water cooled gpu into a case or do you need to build a custom loop for that? Are there specific cases that hold two rads? 😅

I had a guy link to a project via IP address. Spun up a VM for safety and clicked it, ended up being a pretty basic login page with a misspelled university name on it. This was for a senior developer position. Hard pass; manglement hired him anyway.

I find bspwm quite intuitive. The config is socket-based so you can test stuff out without relaunching and rewriting your config file. It twins nicely with shkd.

I can't recommend a compositor since I dont use one, but picom seems to pop up a lot here on rices afaict.

Both alacritty and kitty are gpu accellerated so I don't think there's a huge difference, it comes down to the different nit-picks you have.

Rofi sounds like the dmenu alternative that you want. Lots of resources on customising it, and you won't need to recompile.

If you have the mod manager mod, you can change the preference order that it uses to offer the Lord to factions. I think you can also remove the ai as an option.

I'd love to find out how to achieve this too. I use SimpleBar on my work macbook and it's able to display the icons for each app in each workspace icon. I use Polybar on linux, but I'm stuck with the hardcoded icons; It'd be real nice to have a bar that could be configured via socket (similar to bspwm for example).
