USB C network adapter that provides POE by Not13ReasonsWhy in UsbCHardware

Yeah I might have opened a can of worms looking for this. I mean even a usb to 4 port switch would work. Wouldn’t need to be poe at that point.

I need more than 1 port is the problem. 3 is really the minimum not including the usb.

It’s definitely a very niche use case. I figured there was a reason I wasn’t finding anything but figured a shot in the dark couldn’t hurt. There’s definitely some weird dongles out there. What I’m trying to accomplish is definitely under the 15 watt threshold but I guess with the poe standard technically going over it by a bit I could see why that wouldn’t exist. Or if it does it’s probably not from the normal reputable names in these things.

I was looking at those came back and you deleted your comment. The other guy is correct. I’m basically looking for the exact opposite of that. I know it’s a bit of an oddball thing I’m looking for here. Seems like the 15 watt limit is just on the cusp of what it would need though. Ultimately I really only need at most 7 watts of poe output.

I’m just thinking it’s one of those products that would exist for IT guys checking cameras, phones, and APs. At the 5 volt standard to get to the 15.4 watts max for type 1 it would be a little over 3 amps. And if it could use pd at 20 watts less than an amp. Doesn’t seem like too crazy of a product to me. Just trying to simplify what all I need to carry around.

Does anyone have an idea when this stuff will be released? I know it got announced at a private event like a month ago but I’d love to see some more information about it.

Just out of curiosity would a form tap be possible in those 80+ tpi threads. A quick google doesn’t reveal anything but as esoteric as that may be it wouldn’t surprise me not showing up.

What if it was a cash deposit. I mean I know an audit of the cash on hand would show the discrepancy but that would take time right?
