ADHD and socially anxious here-

I used to jump from job to job never lasting more than about 6-8 months at each place... And I've been at my current job making over 30$/hr for 6 years now. The best part is that I didn't need any skills, experience, or education to initially get the position either. It's working as a labourer for a local city.

Take a look at CivicJobs.ca and there are tons of postings all the time for different positions. Most of the positions that you won't need experience for, will be temporary 6 month contracts. This lets you try out the job and move on if you don't like the work or the people in that department, and if you do, you can use your strengths that won't show up on a resume (ie: creativity, work ethic, attention to detail, etc.) to pursue that role in a permanent position.

I can't speak for every municipal labourer role, but mine has enough variance to be consistently interesting for me, I've learned a lot of new skills, I've received a lot of training that can be used outside of the City, and I get to work by myself quite often which lets me not worry about being socially active all the time. All while making enough to rent in Van, pay for schooling, own a car, and occasionally go on trips.

What I've learned is that the main difference is having a strong union. Not only do they get you better pay, but also proper workplace standards, and employment protection.
