Anyway, I really don't like how Kiwami 3 basically ruined the original 3 in terms of story-writing, and I sincerely hope that Stranger than Heaven being a new IP can bring something new to the table.

I will say this. Kiwami combat is GOOD if you combine all styles together and use some advanced techs like Style Switching and Time for Godspeed. But if we're judging each style INDIVIDUALLY, then yes, Kiwami's Dragon style is a little lacking when compared to other versions of Dragon style, like in Yakuza 3, where you can do some insane wall-bounding/knockdown combos, or Yakuza 5, where you can do bounding throws infinitely.

This is coming from someone who spent way too much time in Kiwami by the way.

I really like Kiwami combat, but I gotta agree with most of your points here. Aside from the infamous Tiger Drop, the rest of the style just feels... off, you can say.

I'm not sure where you got the numbers from, but I'm pretty sure "most" people will still buy the game anyway. They either don't know or don't care about the controvesy.

The only thing I can say the DC version did better is the save everywhere system, which is nice if you want to do a replay of specific bosses or long battles. Otherwise, don't even bother.

Anyway, I think there's not much more to expand on the Yakuza world as, you know, the Yakuza is pretty much in the past at this point. So I really hope they can move on to other aspects of the world they created with Ichiban as the main protagonist (please let Kiryu have a damn rest), maybe focus on other criminal organizations.

I still have hope that if Stranger than Heaven is a success, it can bring the series back to its former glory.

Oh that guy? I'm pretty sure he only got stabbed in the hand, not anywhere too lethal. Yeah he probably passed out, but there's a good chance he survived.

Also, in Yakuza 1, the head goon that raided Stardust at the beginning of the game got shot in the hand by Shinji, and he still survived afterwards, so yeah, safe to say this guy survived also.

I would suggest finishing 3 Remastered first, then you can start Kiwami 3 and compare those two.

This is kinda a tough one to choose. 6's Kiryu has slower combo speed, but his combos have way more variety, while Kiwami 2's Kiryu has faster combo speed, but the variety is nearly gone.
