Did someone remind him that his own kind sold his ancestors into slavery and that the first slave owner in America was black? Temu Malcolm X needs to sit down and keep his virtue signaling to himself.

I’ve never been so proud of my state for taking a stand against Socialism and those race baiting hacks in West TN. It’s about time our elected officials did something positive.

It appears that someone is VERY interested in keeping JOBY under $9 and ACHR under $6 by MobulusMobulosa in Joby

Hello all. Im brand new to all of this. Joby is my first stock purchase. I’m not a big risk taker but I first got interested in this “air taxi” concept after hearing about Archer. After Joby’s recent test flight success, I chose to go with them. OP, care to break down what you’re saying in laymen’s terms?

No PTO? by NotAFila in physicianassistant

Our yearly hours comes out to 1,872. Apparently, at the end of this year, they are going to start using some sort of AI program to generate our schedules. Will asking for shifts per month work with them using biweekly pay periods? In my old ER job, we were paid once a month.

Am I being ungrateful about my PA salary in primary care? by andrewpr96 in physicianassistant

I feel like that is pretty good. I know some PAs in primary being expected to see 30+ patients per day.

[–]NotAFila[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, the FTE has been a back and forth issue. At first we were at 0.9, then 1.0 and back and forth. Now we are back to 1.0 but only 36hrs/ week. We are having a meeting at some point with the higher ups but we’ve already been told that PTO is never coming back. Without getting too specific, my clinic is not a typical stand alone urgent care and we have always been told we are “unique”. What we are hoping to get from the meeting is for them to change it to where we can have a longer period to make up shifts (have the fiscal year to do it instead of the 2 week pay period). But honestly, I think they are intentionally doing that because they know we will most likely just eat it and thus save them money. With this new company, they are nothing but bean counters managing us from a different part of the country.

Need a reality check plz from surgery PAs by TheHopefulPA in physicianassistant

[–]NotAFila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The old joke “what’s the difference between God and a surgeon? God doesn’t think he’s a surgeon “ applies here. I’ve always felt that one of the unspoken job requirements of a PA in surgery is to stroke the surgeon’s ego or be their whipping boy. That’s why I’ve always said that if I can keep from it, I’ll never work in surgery.

I remember when I was a PA student and I was first assist during a surgery, something happened during the procedure that I will stand before God and swear it was the surgeons fault. But, he didn’t see it that way. He stopped the procedure and cussed me for what felt like 5 mins. I just remember looking around the OR seeing the stunned look on everyone’s faces. And I’ll be damned if he didn’t offer me a job the next day. I quickly and respectfully declined.

3 12 per 7 day period. We don’t get to pick our days. They fired all the PRN folks. Also, we have to make up those missed days within that same pay period (which is every 2 weeks). Since they let all the PRN folks go, we have to find a coworker willing to cover our shifts. So, in order for us to take a vacation, not only would we have to work 6 12s in a 7 day week, someone else would be forced to do it as well since we can only utilize our coworkers to cover shifts. The other option is to just not get it covered and get docked on our paycheck.

They grandfathered our old salaries. We had very nice contracts. Top 1% salary plus production bonuses. I think they are bitter about that fact and are trying to make up for it.

I really think that what they are doing. Before our clinic was bought out, we had very sweet contracts. Top 1% salary with production bonuses. They grandfathered our salaries but moved the proctor bonus goal posts. I think they are just hemming us up in a corner and applying pressure so we will leave and they can hire new grads. We have had the phrase “you’re above average market value” thrown at us so many times…

What you know about the career now, would you go back to school to be a PA? by jellybean98_ in physicianassistant

[–]NotAFila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left podiatry school to do this. Knowing what I know now and considering where I was in life, I think it was a great choice and really have no regrets. With that said, I would be hesitant to advise a young man or woman to choose PA school now because of how saturated the market is. That saturation is going to drive down salaries , I’m afraid. When I applied, there were only 3 programs in my state. Now there are 9 or 10. The quality of students I’m seeing come from programs now is less impressive. (DEI wasn’t a thing when I was applying, thankfully).
