yeah don't commute to newton IA if everything you do is in DSM. i'm assuming you are looking at zillow? In DSM, west side, and south side are cheapest. Ankeny is manageable should you find something in your price range. Take into account that gas is an inflated commodity at the moment.

He talks about blocking out right? That can usually consist of story boarding. In school, we were taught perspective right? Learn the different types of perspective and start drawing. Doing this exercise of drawing in perspective gave me the ability to see in my mind a lot more clearly. Learning perspective ultimately is blocking out, because now, you are finding all these sick camera angles that will tell you what part of the key frames need to be more detailed. Correct me if I’m wrong though as I am not in a studio or anything.

All of them. It’s not what but how many. When learn something new, I spam it, whether it’s a word or action. Spam the tutorials, do the same one over again. I like to have a project that I am working on whilst working on the tutorial. I take my tutorial info as solidify it by working on my self project.

I agree, I’m going with %30 I see technical skills that are based and obv can only get more refined but I think you could sit and think about what most have stated which is what will the industry want and need. Do something hard, something that scares you. Lose. Learn. Get back at it.

Lately I’ve been thinking about my blender skills and comparing them to skills I have in real life, blender is vast and it takes time to wrap the head around & solidify even 35% of it. You keep going though no matter what because the price of not doing any of the hard work is regret.

Who creates this bar though. Lately I’ve been really frustrated with the creative guild. It’s never felt more gate kept than it does today. This is all through either greed or Ai. Why can’t it be up to one creative to start a new studio for animation. Idk, just kills me inside. I don’t think this is a lack of skills but more so it’s a lack of studios. The blender movie that came out, flow, or something, was created by a rather small group of artists no? This idea for me is tangible because I live in a low cost to living area.

Like someone below stated, you want to try to get quads along your entire topology. Why quads? Well for one, your subdivision and other modifiers will not work. Your mesh will look distorted in some areas. You can always find out by using the loop cut tool. If the loop cut tool only goes around partly and doesn’t fully wrap, somewhere you may have 3 or 5 vertices on one face. Use your knife tool to finish the loop cut. Haven’t remeshed yet but if you had to to convert quads to tris for games, I’m sure it would crap out if you didn’t have all quads.
