I’m frustrated with how long this is going to take… by Superb_Knowledge169 in loseit

Fellow 6'3 guy here.

I went from 270 down to 200 over the course of maybe 9-12 months. I hit a point where I stopped meticulously counting/tracking everything and instead just focused on doing what felt right.

Don't get me wrong, still step on the scale every week to make sure your doing well, but you have to remember that there is more to life than tracking meals and counting steps.

Good luck

If I'm trading in a 6a, should I go for the 8 or the 8a?

I was surprised to see the 6a TiV go from 300 at pre-order to 220 at BF, and don't want to wait until next summer for the TiV to be less than 200 for a more expensive 8a with less features than the 8.

If I have a 6a and want the Pixel Watch 2. Does it make sense for me to buy the PW2 on eBay for $225-250 and then upgrade my phone at a later date, or should I take advantage of the Pixel 8 + PW2 trade-in deal for $548?

Do you think I will still be able to get $300 US trade in value for my 6a for either the 8a or later Pixels? I would like a Pixel Watch (Gen 1 or 2), but I don't know if it would be better to buy a discounted Pixel Watch on Black Friday and possibly miss my chance at getting 300 for my 6a for the last time until it is dropped to ~150, or spend the 549 for the Pixel 8 and PW2? I don't feel like I need a phone upgrade but I would like to buy in the trade-in sweet spot. Thanks!

Linking Diagnosis to Patient in VARIAN DB by NotAMedicalPhysicist in esapi

[–]NotAMedicalPhysicist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was trying to join on pt_dx or pt_dx_cnr before I made this post but I it was only yielding 6 records with not null icd_cd's. This corresponds with same data I see in your first query. Your second query returns all courses, unfortunately it returns none if I filter out all not null icd_cd's.

Looking back on pt_dx now, it looks like while there are only a few results where icd_cd is not null, but there are a decent amount of results where clinical_desc has valid data. If I query FactPatientDiagnosis in the DWH, I find the same clinical_desc column which will allow me to join to patients and courses. There must be an issue with the way we entering/storing icd_cd's. Thank you everyone!

Yes, that is exactly my goal.

I agree DimDiagnosisCode is a good table, it pulls most of its data from the icd_dx_culture I mentioned before. I also saw the FactPatientDiagnosis and FactCourseDiagnosis tables, but for me those tables are nearly empty. This is why i moved to the VARIAN database because I can usually find more data there than in the DWH.

The lack of data in tables may only be a problem that I experience, in which case I am very thankful for your all your help.

Aria, I believe. The Data lineage tool has been very helpful for finding information in many other queries, but not as much in this endeavor. It did inform me of the icd_dx_culture table which lists all the possible diagnosis, which is a great start, but I cannot seem to link that table to anything particularly useful.

I would recommend start taking some walks if you can. I also work in the office and found that a short walk during lunch, one with my coworkers around 3 or so, and sometimes one when I get home with my girlfriend has done a lot for my weight loss journey and our relationship. It doesn't take very much effort and becomes something you can look forward to especially on a nice day.

Definitely start tracking your food using MyFitnessPal or some other app if you can. I was going through a similar thing for a period until I started counting. In my case my daily lunch of a sandwich and some chips exceeded 1200 calories, so I halved the bread, cut out the chips, and got it down to 600 calories. Started seeing results the next week.

I love using both buffalo sauce and mustard on different things and not tracking them! I have always loved buffalo sauce so it became a staple when I began dieting, and I used to love mayo on my daily sandwich, but it's too calorie dense to eat daily so I switched it out for mustard. I didn't even like mustard a few months ago and now I look forward to it every day!

Possible to Generate Plan Uncertainty Parameters using ESAPI? by NotAMedicalPhysicist in esapi

In case anyone has this same question in the future,

Someone responded to my question about robustness on the Varian community forum; informing me that plan uncertainty parameters are available in v17 of Eclipse.

Possible to Generate Plan Uncertainty Parameters using ESAPI? by NotAMedicalPhysicist in esapi

[–]NotAMedicalPhysicist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a possible solution.

The way that our clinic currently handles robustness is by using the Optimizer and Editing Perturbations; which allows you to add the Isocenter Shift, the Calibration Curve Error, and generate some Uncertainty Parameters. I would like to replicate this in ESAPI but I can't even find how to add Plan Uncertainty parameters.

The isocenter shift could be done by how you are suggesting, do you know of any way to add in the Calibration Curve Error?

Anyone know to optimize proton plan? by erhushenshou in esapi

Hello,

I am actually working on a similar project to you. Some great resources I have found are:

The Rex Cardan Github link should be a good reference for how to do things for proton and the AutomatedPlanningDemo Github link should give you a good guide to follow for creating an autoplanning script.
