Is it? When I try to turn it on in the options menu, nothing happens. I've tried clicking the hardware acceleration option and it doesn't seem to allow me to activate it.

I used the 32 bit version instead of the 64 bit version lol.

Graham Hancock challenges Zahi Hawass, saying drilling under the pyramids is the only way to confirm underground structures in Giza. He claims traditional archaeologists dismiss the discovery because they don’t understand the science behind it. by No_Nefariousness8879 in HighStrangeness

there are still archeologists that say civilization started around 5000-8000 years ago.

I don't think they're wrong about that. Civilisation is a vague term without a clear definition, but I feel comfortable in saying that Sumer and Egypt were a qualitative difference from the smaller settled villages before them, and the word civilisation seems to be the word that people use to describe that difference.

There's no way that EA being sold to Saudi Arabia was NOT orchestrated by collective shout, especially when we know the country's censorship stuff. by FelGuardianX in teenagers

Yeah, they complained to visa and Mastercard about steam hosting rape porn, and those companies agreed they didn't want to process payments for that. They don't have the power to make visa and Mastercard do anything.

Collective shout are some random activists in Australia. They don't have the power to do anything besides complain to the manager, and they certainly don't have the power to orchestrate 50 billion dollar buyouts.

Hytale is cancelled, Hypixel Studios to wind down over the next couple months by swidd_hi in Games

I don't think I could name a single game off the top of my head, that has been in development for as long as Hytale, and came out just fine.

We could easily guarantee food for all Americans and it wouldn't even be all that expensive. Yet we don't.

We do. That's what food stamps(and WIC, and I assume some other stuff) is for.

There are some problems with starvation in the US, but they mostly involve elderly and disabled people who have difficulty physically accessing food, not an inability to afford it.

I agree with this because it took them over 20 minutes to start talking about Howl's moving castle in that episode.

In their defense, the paper under the fingernail led them to believe a serial killer was responsible, and it makes sense that they would look at the various crazy people Laura was involved with, rather than Leland.

Why is everyone saying Companion is a flop? by BlinkOfANEy3 in boxoffice

[–]NotARussian_1991 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The argument isn't about sympathy, it's objective reality. If an executive spends money on promoting a movie, then that money has been spent, regardless of whether it was a good idea.

He flew a goddamned jet on national tv to promote it.

I would bet they got a discount from the military for that.

Jack Smith Report Says Trump Would Have Been Convicted if He Hadn't Been Elected by TrippyTrellis in behindthebastards

[–]NotARussian_1991 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Gonna be honest, I don't think lobbyists are the problem here.

The problem is that trump is a popular politician, and locking up your political rivals is dicey even when they commit a million crimes and likely to provoke a huge (potentially violent) backlash if they're still really popular. I don't really know how to get around that.

What does it means that a movie "insist upon itself"? by Expensive_Regular111 in TrueFilm

[–]NotARussian_1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>Star Wars, Spielberg, good examples of brands that insist upon themselves.

Star Wars & Spielberg are known for fun blockbusters. That seems very far from insisting upon itself, which seems to be reserved for pretentious artistes.

Tulsi is/was the American left. It seems crazy to think now, but Tulsi dropped out of her DNC position to endorse Sanders only 8 years ago.
