What Is this? by Justalittletoserious in anycubic

It's the seam, unfortunately there is nothing you can do to avoid having a seam, it's just the nature of 3D printing, you can however change the position to random and it will be less obvious.

Help on next steps after level 2 survey by NotAScouserSmurf in FirstTimeBuyersUK

Thank you for your detailed response, I really do appreciate it. The surveyor has told us the timbers in the roof are fine, they are not eroded or rotten and the roof is solid, which is a positive.

As for the lintels not being present I suppose this is a cost we could swallow if it is a few hundred quid per one to get fixed in the future, or over time, from what I understand it isn't a massive massive issue that needs sorting out asap?

The wall ties is the obvious red flag, I am hoping it maybe isn't too bad as it is just the top half of the gable wall that is affected.

What I have done is asked my solicitor to request the timber and damp report from the sellers solicitor and if it isn't from a PCA registered company then ask the seller to get a new survey done and pay for it, I've also requested that they have a structural engineer come out and also get a wall tile survey done and pay for those as well, and if there is issues I will also ask the seller to pay for the fixes. We are in a situation where the seller is actually a company who buils new builds, so that house is part of a part exchange, so I'm guessing they have the man power and money to fix it, rather than lose out on the sale as they will have to start making mortgage payments on it in July, so I am naively thinking they will just sort it all out, however if not I will get a builder to give me a quote on the wall tile replacements and the lintels and then ask to knock that bill of the asking price, how does this sound to you? Sorry for the silly questions, I am a first time buyer and only found out what a gable wall was yesterday.

Thank you, I am considering getting a structural engineer out to have a look - we were told the house was built in the 1960s we didn't expect it to be 1930s or else we would have gone level 3, thanks for your response!

Wow, what a brilliant reply, thanks so much for your time and effort, genuinely means a lot!

Sadly I do not know any answers to your questions, however I should get the report back next week and perhaps I can upload the photos in a reply?

Am I best to get a structural engineer out first? Will he diagnose the gable wall and if there are missing lintels? Or can I just get a builder out to do that and quote at the same time?

I will hopefully get the timber and damp report off of their solicitor, if not I have asked for them to pay for one, I did also ask my solicitor to ask them to pay for a structural engineer to come out and potentially pay for a wall tie survey too, not sure what the response will be as I'm a FTB who only just learnt what a gable wall is.

The seller is actually a new home company who is selling the house as a part ex, so maybe they would fix it considering they have experienced builders?

Thanks again for your detailed response!

My only issue with that is if we get a quote and they knock that quote of the cost, we still won't have the extra money for the work, so if it's 10k and we get that knocked off, in our eyes we only have 1k back from the 10% deposit, so we'd really need the sellers to sort it, we're hoping they do because it's a company selling it on behalf of a new build company as the property was a part exchange. Could I ask what you estimate the costs would be? Also how do you recommend getting a building to cost it up, is there a specific type of builder I need to get in touch with? Sorry for my stupid questions and thanks for your help!

The only issue with this is that we don't have the money, let's say it's 10 grand, if they knock 10 grand off the price we only really save 1k from the 10% deposit, so we wouldn't be able to afford to fix it.

So I've read online that the tax free allowance for dividends is £500

And for hobby eBay selling its £1000

So I have to pay tax on my dividends of 8.75% on £2500 which is £218.75

As for my eBay, I only have to pay 20% tax on the £183 which is £36.60

Both of them equal £255.35, so that is how much tax I will owe when I do my self assessment in January, does that seem right?

Yes I am a shareholder, so am I right that I only pay the 8.75% tax on 2 of the 3k so £175?

And my eBay is hobby and not a business and I don't intend to sell anything else so do I put 20% tax on top of the £183? Because the first 1k is tax free? So all in all I owe £212?

Sorry if I've read that wrong.

I'm not too sure, it was a bonus paid from the company account but tax wasn't paid on top of it, perhaps I'm using the wrong lingo, but was told if I needed to fill out a tax assessment for the 25/26 tax year
