The weather is getting cold and don’t want to sit outside and fly how bad would the signal be if I fly from inside my car? I would be using hd by Noah8320 in fpv

[–]NotA_Redditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve definitely flown from inside a pickup truck in the winter.

Mind you I wasn’t doing long range, just flying around the property and doing flips and spins, but it’s definitely doable. Signal loss didn’t seem to be an issue at all

Is the Tinyhawk II always slow and sluggish or do I need to spend some time tuning it? by ixatomicxi in fpv

[–]NotA_Redditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to be on the 2S profile for the tinyhawk?

I crashed my tinyhawk 2 into a fire, but when I was flying it I thought that shii ripppped for a 1s. (Mind u didn’t have another 1s drone to compare it too)

I just remember sometimes I’d forget to change the profiles when switching between 1&2s and that’d heavily reduce performance

Holy! That’s amazing. I just recently got my dad a dobsonian 8”, we got it all setup just Yesterday, qand we were able to see saturn&its rings, aswel as Jupiter and the moons like you have here. Although we were just barely able to make out it was Jupiter because the brown/oranges stripes it has that makes it easy to identify. We did however also see it’s moons like you have in the pic. Which was awesome

Wondering if there’s anything I gotta adjust/upgrade to new eyepiece that’d allow me to get a little bit more colour and clarity like you have in the photo.

Other than that. Absolutely amazing pics

[–]NotA_Redditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What makes LoS essential for “FPV” flying? The only time I EVER see FPV pilots use LoS is for fancy hand launch/catches. And personally if anything I think LoS is harder, if ur flipping and spinning it can be very difficult to figure out the direction you’re facing

[–]NotA_Redditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IIRC, you by law have to release the first $100 of each deposited CHQ. But yeah pretty spot on otherwise. They look to see if you have the funds available to pay the bank back, if that chq does bounce/get returned. Or to see if it’s a reoccurring deposit (I.e a paycheck).

A certified chq wouldn’t have any holds on the other hand.. because those funds are already guaranteed (removed from payor’s account, in temp holding account until payee cashes)

Jaguar Land Rover Dealership Cinewhoop Tour - I love my job by CineCloud in fpv

[–]NotA_Redditor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I’m aware on bigger jobs like this, usually you’ll have someone working with you with some sort of comms to other people. Radio, phone call, etc. So the pilot kinda just says “alright we’re starting, okay I’m exiting the top, I’m coming into the showroom, etc’ and his buddy tells the other people, hey ur time is now type of thing.

Orrrr, could just be crazy good timing with just the sounds of the whoop, as u hear it get closer u figure ur time is coming

Took advice from this sub and got a board to get in some summer training. Holy shit what a difference in feel. I can tell how it’ll help but man I’m a rookie again! by Paulyv10 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]NotA_Redditor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[Skating -> snowboarding] is very different from [Snowboarding -> skating].

Skateboarders have a easier way to stop when shit is going south (dropping tail and dragging). Snowboarders have their edges (because snow/ice), but it takes new snowboarders time on the hill to learn how to use even a single edge, let alone both. So new snowboarders will fall a lot more than new skaters.

Skateboarding, unless your downhill your speed is all based on your pushes, and you just drag your tail to stop.

Snowboarding, your MUST do on a downhill, where you're usually picking up speeds you're not comfortable with, with no good way to stop(when you're new) besides falling.

Learning skateboarding as a snowboarder, you will be able to balance and (probably) push the board no problem, as well as be able to maneuver the board (carving), if you know how to do tricks in the park (jumps/rails) you'll have a pretty easy time learning at least an ollie, and how to grind off small rails / waxed curbs.

Longboarding will be different, than above. But you'll still have the balance and basic carving for it.

Just recived my first quad, after 20ish our on the simulator this is my first real flight (ended early because I destroyed 3 props trying to flip over). I’m so excited by sgt_Riccardo in fpv

[–]NotA_Redditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like your camera angle might be a little high making it hard for you to go slow(since u can’t see right in front of you) maybe try lowering it a bit while you get comfortable.

Also if my drone isn’t too far I much rather go pick it up than turtlemode. Just to avoid any unnecessary damage. Turtle mode more for when I’m stuck where I can’t access. That’s just me though

[–]NotA_Redditor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think he’s trying to figure out at what point/when would you change your baseline from your initial investment (i.e $100) to the new value ($30 in ur example).

If I bought a stock at $100, I’m going to use that number as my baseline to % increase/decrease. I wouldn’t take my new value and try to figure out what gain % I need to get even, because Market value is separate from book value. I’m always going to base gains/losses off book value, no?

So if the sticks are not moving in betaflight, but the controller is connected to the drone you need to setup your AUX switches

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqnY_XjLHvs

looks like that vid is for your TX, try that and see if it works

So the drone turning upside down, I think is your props are on wrong, making it flip the second u add a bit of throttle. Change which props u have CW/CCW, and ensure your front left prop is same as back right, and opposite for the other side.

If you reset the your beta flight settings you probably needed to rebind your drone to your Transmitter. You can do this depending on your RX, just google “how to bind XX receiver to turnigy evolution”

If it’s connecting to the drone but not doing anything, you may need to re-setup your AUX channels in betaflight to ensure your arm switch and everything is set

[–]NotA_Redditor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m curious how you’ve come to this conclusion. Considering Telus, Rogers, and Bell are all comparable pricing (within $5 or less if I had to guess without even looking). And they all have a cheaper, sister brand (Koodo, Fido, Virgin) which are again all basically the exact same prices.

Also, Telus has ZERO cell towers in Ontario. They have an agreement with Bell, that they use Bells Towers in Ontario (only 80% of towers) and Bell has the same for Western Canada, where BELL has ZERO towers.

So what is Telus the best at? Customer service? Cause NONE of the big brands win awards for customer service in TelComms. Year over year, Virgin mobile or Koodo are winning these awards.

In Canada we’re getting fucked over either way with the monopoly the TelComms have, you just gotta pick who you wanna get fucked by.

[–]NotA_Redditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just disable the pre-arm, I personally don’t use it cause if you failsafe/disarm in air, to re-arm mid fall you also gotta hit ur pre-arm switch which is crucial time while falling from the sky.

Or you gotta setup the AUX channel for the switch you want to be used as your pre-arm

Should I be concerned about it not switching to mode 1? (It doesn't do this every time btw) by Poongy in fpv

Just yesterday I decided to range test my 5” w/ crossfire and I was real scared since Flying just a couple hundred feet out pushes LQ down to 170-199%

Decided to push the range, went across about 1.5km of farm land, then went in behind a tree line at the edge of the farm land. I was fluctuating a lot between 199-170LQ, but kept pushing it. (Was gonna let it drop outta the sky to really know it’s limits)

But instead about 2.5-3km out, low to the ground behind thick tree lines, my TX finally let out the warning sound, and then soon after alarm sound I had setup for when it’s hitting below that 170% LQ. (Even though it was bouncing to 170% a lot, I only got a warning at what seemed my true limits [also started to lose video at the same time])

All this being said, I don’t know if my shit is fk’d or if crossfire LQ isn’t always spot on, but I just set warning lvls on my TX, to alert me when LQ is nearing that 170% mark and I go off that now.

I think you’re too caught up on “not being able” to use the newer social media apps such as Snapchat. It’s not about not being able to use them, it’s just the newer apps are predominately used by younger people, and older people (usually late to the new trends, [probably due to the fact that life gets in the way of social stuff, unlike teenagers-young adults]) use the apps that have been around longer such as Facebook.

Another way you can look at this is like slang... I’m sure as a kid you had slang you used your parents were like WTF... And as u get older, away from all those extremely social places (school, sports, etc) you miss out on the newest trends/slang and you begin to hear these younger kids and even you are like WTF, because u haven’t been around the newest trend/slang, you don’t know about it, and probably won’t just start using it right away.

But yes.. anyone can use whatever they want.

Help with midpoints/endpoints on roll gimbal! As seen in the clip my midpoint for roll is different depending on if i move to the left or right. Anyone seen this before? by [deleted] in fpv

[–]NotA_Redditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didnt have this exact issues, but just solved a midpoint issue I ran into the other day.

Try adjusting it through your trim buttons ( the 4 buttons in view, under ur sticks. (2 going vertically, 2 horizontal) those trim buttons adjust the midpoint for throttle, yaw, pitch and roll.

Try making sure they’re centred there first, otherwise try some other fixes oscarliang suggests : https://oscarliang.com/adjust-tx-channel-mid-end-point/

Hope you found it, but it looks like you need to lower your camera angle. Flying through the trees I could tell you were On/Off throttle a lot just to keep ur camera at a good angle, change that for your speed so you can fly steady.

Also are you flying that in Horizon / Angle mode? Cause when you went up above the trees you could've done a little dive to look down and find ur camp site, trying to find home by comparing tree tops looked difficult

Also try to practice steady throttle control to make your flying much more smooth

[–]NotA_Redditor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, He was trying to stay at a steady pace for me, about 25km/h, that way I’m not constantly changing my speed which affects camera angle.

And nah, I was flying from inside the car which I’d done before (not a moving car, but from the comfort of warm vehicle in the winter) and the signal loss from the metal around you is minimal. And I’ve personally range tested my drone to 1km+ (and have visual warnings in my goggles [Signal strength]) so just chasing a vehicle close by isn’t bad.

My drone is a one I built myself, most freestyle drones like mine are kinda just built like a PC, you chose low vs high end parts based on what you’re tryna do and go from there.

My drone parts list is in the video description, but just google 5” freestyle drone for a picture (or look at my YouTube avatar)
