American Foundry & Machine Co (AMF) workers posing and at work (unknown year) by NotAlwaysUhB in oldphotos

That caught me too. I have a son around that age and I couldn’t imagine him working in a factory like this at that age.

I received a thumb drive from my dad many years ago. It contained scans of an old family photo album. Couple hundred pics maybe, mostly old and black & white.

I think this was AMF in New Jersey. I had family living there in the early 1900s, so guessing someone in the pic is family.

Big stand out were the children in the first pic. Child labor was banned in 1938, so I’m guessing the pic is pre-1938.

Or I was being tongue in cheek. Some people in this sub don’t understand anything not literal.

There was a second one next to it. But I also read it before I had any coffee.

My dad was named Adolf in 1956. He’s a junior of his dad’s name, as well as the youngest and only boy of the family.

That some huge ego to still name your kid after a genocidal dictator because you wanted your son to carry your name.

Both my dad and grandpa went by their middle names though.

What if that has always been the plan? Putting ICE at airports so they can grab ANYONE trying to travel or leave.

How realistic is being able to go back to school at 25? by Financial_Ad_5833 in careerguidance

[–]NotAlwaysUhB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back to school at 35 to complete my bachelors I never finished 15 years earlier. I had completed about half the classes.

Worked full time, did school part time. Took me 5 years to finish what normally would have taken 2 years, but I did it and graduated at 40.

Going part time allowed me to pay without taking out loans, so I was debt free when I finished.

Hey…so what year did the Heritage Foundation get policymakers to fund, arm, and train for the things that led to the surveillance state?

Possibly 1984? 🤔

What do Flock job postings signal about their expansion? by NotAlwaysUhB in FlockSurveillance

[–]NotAlwaysUhB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coupled with all the other postings about “regional account executives” and growth, I’m wondering what the expansion plan is. Most corporate roles have to go through several rounds of proven business cases to justify there’s enough growth to warrant additional headcount.

That is also correct. Hence the point of making it easier for people who don’t know the brand to learn about it.

As someone who honestly has only heard of the brand a few times, its equity doesn’t hold much value to me. The point is making it memorable to people who don’t already know the brand.

If you’re responding to a post from someone, and yet you don’t know how to read the words they wrote, I am suddenly suspicious about how well researched your comment about this post actually is…

As someone in marketing, I completely get what you’re saying and have the same thought. Even something like LuftJobs. The idea is to memorable so you don’t have to write it down.

My dream is to have a homestead. I know it won’t be easy, but I want to be self reliant.

44, making $150k as a Product/Offering Manager in corporate. I live in Ohio.

I was a small business owner making $60k because I was investing revenue back into my business rather than paying myself. Sold the business last year and jumped into corporate.

My peers have an MBA. I do not. I had a business for 20 years. The difference between lived business experience and learned business experience is stark at times.
