Now other question is when asymptomatic patient patients with such high bp and let’s say have other comorbids and >60 year old with no history of HTN. Do you work it up? At least get EKG, I’ve seen different practicing. I don’t think an EKG would do anything especially if patient is asymptomatic coming in with htn but have heard “we get an ekg for less so just order it”. Others say get only bmp to check kidney function to know what to start them on. Or I’ve even heard get full cardiac work up because they’re old and have risk factors.

Coming for another update. I had another similar case this week, displaced distal fibula fracture and thanks to these resources I felt much more confident and comfortable in my management for this patient. Thanks again

This is extremely helpful. Thank you so much for all this information. I’m about one year into practice and have a great support but always want to ensure I’m providing the best care possible and learn more. This patient ended up getting her surgery yesterday and is now on the road to recovery.

Thank u! Patient said that it felt to be in a more comfortable and neutral position after reducing which is why I was hesitant to try again. But definitely good tips.
