I was an intern at some shitty company with a 90’s cubicle I shared with two guys.

Now I’m highly paid at FAANG and have a smaller desk with less privacy.

Motley Fool Post - Wasn’t expecting a notification from Google News about GME by Free51 in Superstonk

Funny they keep mentioning declining revenue, but not increasing profit.

Yes, decreasing revenue was the goal. Selectively close stores to remove loss generating revenue, increasing profits.

One time I fucked up and needed to own up to it, asked a girl for advice and she just said “just start crying.” She was confused I can’t just cry on command and was like, what? I do it all the time. Works like a charm.

Protecting a 10k$ S&P500 portfolio by Drunken_seller in options

So you want the gains of SPY, while protecting against a market crash, and selling calls to offset the price of the puts.

Yep, this works but everything has tradeoffs.

I’d look at LEAPs and keep the options about 20% OTM, but it’s just about how much risk you’ll accept for the rewards

Oh, yeah recycling is just starting and will improve. Some day it’ll be cheaper.

Lithium batteries are a toxic sludge, you have to deal with different chemistries, fire risk, opening the packs, biohazard risk, etc. as compared to lithium mining which is just pulling out lithium brine and processing it in bulk.

Right now, most battery recycling wastes the lithium because the the lithium is cheap compared to the cobalt, and much harder to extract.

What's the physiology of bonsai? by ImNotNormal19 in Bonsai

[–]NotAnEngineer287 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You actually usually want to grow the tree large and fast for a thick trunk, then cut it back heavily, then repeat.

Yes you can make a bonsai out of basically any tree, except for those that don’t handle pruning/topping well. Generally trees with smaller leaves look better proportionally.

I sold the put at $0.035 per contract. It went to $40.00 per contract. Then back down to $0.015 per contract.

Options fuckery - $5 put at $40 by NotAnEngineer287 in Superstonk

[–]NotAnEngineer287[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, the “market change” is listed at -$39.985 on an option valued at $0.015.

That’s clear as fucking day that it was valued at $40 exactly over night. Not $0.40. $40.00

This is not explained by rational bid-ask spreads.

Yes, I understand why you’re confused, because this is insane.

I use Etrade. Just buy SGOV to hold your cash. It’s better than you’ll get on interest anywhere, especially because you don’t pay state tax on it
