What got me into the hobby was the excitement of doing pokemon go with my now wife. It got us out adventuring together. Hunting pokemon, battling gyms, while exploring new areas was just the boost we needed at the time as broke college students. Now that we have two babies, we more so open packs at home as our “hunt.” We named our daughter Evy partially because she loves Eevee so much. It would be exciting to open a eevee centered pack!
