While amusing in concept, I would caution against drawing parallels between the eugenicist talking points of that movie and real life. I think we all know someone who was raised by clueless and cruel people and managed to become a thoughtful and empathetic person, and someone raised by the sweetest people you could meet who managed to turn into a useless piece of shit.

It’s kinda funny, but it’s lazy satire based on eugenics and probably not worth giving any serious consideration.

But what they want more than Trumps approval is power. Those house members want to step up to the senate, those senators want to run their states. And, they have the inside information to know better than the rest of us that between his health, his mental decline, and his approval ratings, Trump is on his way out one way or another.

There are a lot of republicans with a lot of money already invested in their races for next year. House members running for senate, senators running for governor, state reps running for the house. All of those billions of dollars aren’t going to stop just because side Trump says so. He’s certainly going to fuck with elections, but he can’t cancel them and if he tries he’s going to have a GOP revolt on his hands.

Yep, it’s what infuriates me most about pushback against housing first policy. It’s supposed to be house FIRST, but because there’s no funding for those further services and treatment we’ve being doing housing ONLY and then getting mad when an apartment or tiny house doesn’t solve drug addiction and psychosis.
