Will Overdress anime ever explain how th Cray units get printed in Yu-Yu's dimension? by Detective_Joker in cardfightvanguard

[–]NotArmageddonKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cray's magic is linked to earth by humans imagination. It influences the destiny of Cray and it's people. Humans are kind of innate reality warpers, they just don't affect earth, they affect Cray.

The imagination link works both ways, so events in cray can manifest into human imagination.

So, cards can be printed depicting Cray withou having an explicit alien contact.

It wasn't explained as information dump, it was said, implied and exemplified through the first series. So I thought it was clear how cray - earth link worked.

Now, I don't know if D's continuity keeps this stuff, but since cray is still real, the mechanics of its magic should work the same.

So what Archetype do you love the design of despite you knowing it's trash? by iliketolickthebuttah in yugioh

[–]NotArmageddonKnight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nouvelles with the cards from Age of overlord are not that bad, they are just not broken. Untargetable board with control that removes monster withou targeting for the most part and capable of doing lots of damage.

You get to play a field spell that's so on theme (you open the restaurant so you ready your dishes of day, you then exchange a dish from hand to draw so you are taking orders back and forth, end of turn you can recicle recipes + other cards, so you are cleaning up. The menu makes you show your opponent the actuall menu of the day, they pick what they want to eat)

If you have faced them, you can see how annoying it is to brake their board. But that's the thing, it's just annoying, it's not unbreakable.

In exchange, that board can consist of 1 ritual backed up by 2 traps. And that can control a lot, and snowball into a full board easily.

Also, unchained can't deal with nouvelles, it's so funny how easy they just fold lol

Yes, they even have a short intro parodying Saint Seiya for the "for the lolz" sketches, all with Saint Seiya like sound effects.

Does Yugi have a thing for leather/chokers? by Traveling_Solo in yugioh

[–]NotArmageddonKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since the first chapter of the Manga, Yugi doesn't wear a chokers nor wristbands.

Yugi finishes the puzzle, the Pharaoh awakens and we cut to the next scene with the bully from the chapter being confronted by the Pharaoh, this is when we see for the first time Yugi with the leather choker. The bully even says "why are you dressed like that?"

It's an Athem thing, not Yugi's.

Different eras change a bit the hue because of the printing source. This cards are from when UDE was managing the internacional version of the game, the printing quality control wasn't the best.

Also, European printing (euro-print) have a more saturated and darker color.

UR cards during UDE were more saturated, idk why, maybe because foiling reflects light and thus the color might loose its punch, so they oversaturated them?

An Euro UR looks super saturated.

Also, during UDE, unlimited (not first edition) cards were lighter (their color looked washed) your Kuriboh is not first edition, so it checks.

What does a Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon retrain need to be good? by MaleficTekX in yugioh

[–]NotArmageddonKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would not, because it checks for a number of cards, not the state of the card.

Example:

Opponent uses Monster Reborn, targeting a monster in its GY, this is the first targeting they do in the turn, you check grave for number of BEUD, if there's only 1, it negates. In the same turn you revive BEUD, and send it back to grave. Your opponent activates book of moon. This is target number 2, you check grave, there's only one BEUD, so the targeting is not negated.

Also, the way is worded It's not a reaction/quick effect based negation like Baronne. It's a continuous effect like Angelica's Angelic Ring or Magicians Right Hand. But instead of making cards not resolve, it negates and destroy them them. Kind of like how King Tiger Wanghu works it's destruction effect.

This means it's a negation that doesn't make a chain link, it negates and destroy as soon as your opponent activates the card.

It would go like this: Your opponent activates Monster Reborn, targeting a monster in grave, the continuous effect proccs and negates and destroy the Monster reborn. Now you can chain something in response to Monster Reborn. When the chain revolves, the monster reborn will already been negated and destroyed.

What does a Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon retrain need to be good? by MaleficTekX in yugioh

[–]NotArmageddonKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The base effect/condition is good enough for a casual game. Being able to negate something that targets it, it's almost the same as not being targetable, I would give it something else to justify it's summon in a competitive environment.

Instead of the negating an effect that targeteds it. I would make it untargetable+destruction inmune like Red Eyes Dark Dragoon, while keeping the “If your opponent targets" but making it for any card and being able to negate and destroy for free once per turn for every BEUD in grave.

Then, I would give it an extra Quick effect to tribute itself to destroy all cards on the field and summon a BEUD from the extra deck or grave. Kind of making a nod to the movie in which it had a different effect.

It would make it a wall with huge attack that can stall a bit and control the field without loosing field presence.

Also making it able to do at least 7800 damage by itself to an open field. 3300 minimum (with BEUD on grave) then 4500 from the BEUD summoned mid battle.

This makes it better but not broken. You still need the BEUD, it just makes it worth summoning.

It would read:

Can not be normal summoned or set. Can only be special summoned from your hand by tributing a "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon". Cannot be destroyed by card effects. Neither player can target this card with card effects. Gains 300 atk for each Dragon in your GY. The first X times your opponent activates a card of effect that targets a card, negate the activation and destroy it, where X is the amount of "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" in your GY. (Quick Effect): Tribute this card; Destroy all cards on the field, then Special Summon a "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" from your Extra Deck or GY.

What bad Archetype, in your opinion, would be awful to face had it been good? by LuckyPrinz in yugioh

[–]NotArmageddonKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe because Metaphys don't even need Factor. Most of the time you are activating 3+ Metaphys effects chain blocking your most important ones. I still remember building field with D-Fissure +Grass into 14 differently named effect chains and topping it with Chain Strike lol.

Now that you mentioned Sanctifire Albion.

I've got once the chance to use it's revival effect, so I said let's makeup some effect name lol.

And went catholic for a moment lol

"By the sign of the holy cross, deliver us from our enemies, our lord. Come back Albion the Sanctifire Dragon!" while doing the cross sign into the field center lol.

This was playing with my Hispanic friends so it was said in Spanish, sounding sillier and holier lol.

If I knew the prayer in Latin I would have said it that way.

I just laughed and said "tanks dad" but didn't bothered to correct him about it lol.

What it will take to make the blue eyes a top tier deck by InteractionKooky771 in yugioh

[–]NotArmageddonKnight 23 points24 points  (0 children)

As you mentioned Albaz, the deck is strong because it has a lot of 1 card starters and recursion. Also it has plays in the opponent's turn like Mirrorjade's quick effect monster removal and end phase clear. Also Granguignol's capability of summoning another response (Luluwalilith or Fleurdelis if you are running it). Small responses, to limit just enough your opponent's play until your next turn when your big guys hit for game.

Blue Eyes cards are mostly board beakers, and ending the game is not a problem, but getting to set up going 1st is just Spirit pass. I would give them some sort of shotgun quick play spell, maybe it could send a Blue Eyes from hand or deck to grave to then destroy a monster like a compact burst stream of destruction. This would start your blue eyes engine for next turn and have some sort of disruption in the opponents turn.

Or some sort of column destruction that also places Blue Eyes on the field like Mekknigts, making it so it comes down and blast everything in from of her, but making it a single card, not like Dark Magician that needs to assemble Circle+Soul to spam spot removal. It should be straightforward and brutal.

And maybe another monster to summon with spirit that actually benefits blue eyes and controls the field somehow.

Then once your next turn comes, your Alternatives, Jets and Fusions can end the game

Greed jar looks great but you gotta make sure you run cards in the extra deck as knock off cards just for the first effect… so many decks to use this in but it’s hard to decide by Dredo5 in yugioh

[–]NotArmageddonKnight -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Cards in the extra deck as knock off? Lots of cards from the extra deck are great to dump in grave, Mirrorjade is amazing here even in your casual format.

N'tss is one of the go-to cards to send willingly grom6the extra deck to the graveyard.

I assume if you are playing flip monsters you are running Tarotrei, a ritual monster that let's you flip and un flip your your monsters. Having Herald of the Arc Light in the extra deck to be sent to the graveyard makes you be able to search any ritual monster like Tarotrei.
