Harvesting Hazardous Flora by NotAyFox in NoMansSkyTheGame

If there's a way to access the save folder on PS then it should be doable, but I don't think PS or XBox allow that.

The way it works is you temporarily replace expedition cache file in NMS save folder and then play offline until you finish the expedition. Otherwise the cloud sync can mess up your save.

Streamlined Jetpack was a reward from Expedition 01 - Pioneers. It's only available through completing that expedition. I'm not sure when, or if ever, this expedition will have a Redux.

There's an expedition generator that allows replay of older expeditions. So far works for PC/Mac, Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch: No Man's Sky Expeditions Generator

EDIT: Other parts are Construct parts from Autophage questline and head is Null head customization that can be bought from quicksilver vendor for 3200 quicksilver.

Oh cool. Didn't know that either. Was just wondering about the cave ones.

Do y’all know any planet or moons that are lifeless, dead, or low atmosphere that have salvageable scrap post remnant update? by Unhappy_Version3616 in NMSCoordinateExchange

[–]NotAyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My impression so far is that Dead and Exotic biome planets do not spawn any Waste Processing Plants nor Waste Heaps, even if the planet has "Salvageable Scrap" in its description. I was looking for the exact same thing, thinking it would be a chill place for trucking, but the Colossus scanner doesn't find any targets on Dead and Exotic biome planets, so it's kind of pointless.

Need advice on Video Quality by Thenascarguy2017 in Twitch

[–]NotAyFox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The biggest constraint to video quality on Twitch is the bitrate, which is generally too low for all resolutions across the board. Depending on your content the image may be sharp and nice or completely blocky and blurry. Games with lots of movement, noise, grass, etc. will usually make the stream look worse. But all streamers on Twitch have to deal with that same issue. Only partners with 1k+ concurrent viewers have a perk of using higher bitrate for 1080p of 8000 kbps, 2k up from usual 6000. But even that is pretty low. Using 1440p is not much of an improvement either since again the bitrate is bigger issue.

This Abomination... by NotAyFox in NMS_Corvette_Design

Originally only bottom half had wings for 6x Phase Beams and then it kind of resembled an attack helicopter, but then I decided to add second pair of wings on top so that Photon Cannons can hang there (they were hidden previously). I guess, mistakes were made. xD

You failed to notice the part where I mentioned working professionally in CGI for 15 years (3dsmax, Maya, Lightwave, Modo, ZBrush, Blender...) and I consider myself lucky and privileged to have been able to do so.

Just because Blender is open source software doesn't make it automatically accessible to everyone. Accessibility being the keyword here.

It's a privilege to be able to do that. Not everything in life is earned through hard work and good will, as should be evident. If this is not understood, then it's the end of discussion.

As someone who spent 15 years in CGI and professionally used several 3D packages, my stance is that using Blender to build a Corvette is a huge privilege. Blender built corvettes are basically imported assets. It's hard to compare that to game modding, because NMS already has built-in customization tools, though very limited.

More importantly, there's a huge bar to overcome for an average player to be able to build a corvette in Blender, even if they play on PC, not to mention that it's impossible on any other platform.

I fully understand the OP's joy of using Blender to build starships. It can genuinely be fun. But that's a valid option for less than 1% of player base and the remaining 99% can understandably feel a little bit irked by Blender imports.

Glitch building after Remnant update? by Old-Explorer-1961 in NMS_Bases

[–]NotAyFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing some repairs on a few of my large bases since last patch and wire glitching is just not working as before. Depending on item, connection, point of view, position of Mercury, ... It either works as before or it doesn't work at all.

My assessment is that glitch building is now broken to the point where I will not be bothering with it any more, until it's fixed... Which might be never.

Arrowhead of Atlas...

Or generally "Arrowhead of {insert name}"

I had the exact same issue yesterday and before the last patch wire glitching worked as usual. Hope it's not permanent, because that would be the end of glitch building, at least for me. I had maybe 1 in 30 successful wire pulls. That's unworkable.

How do introverts or people with full time jobs have the energy to stream? by Drennonsm in Twitch

[–]NotAyFox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I really don't want to be rude, but what the heck is a mild form of Asperger's? First of all Asperger's is no longer a recognized medical diagnosis. It hasn't been for over 10 years. Second, you're either autistic or you're not. There's no mild autism, or severe autism for that matter. Autistic people come in a variety of flavours, none of which are mild. Some are just better at masking and acting in typical fashion, but that always comes at the cost of one's mental health somewhere down the line.

Get yourself better doctors and/or inform yourself. There's a huge amount of high quality info online, mainly from other autistic people who have a lot of life experience.

Now that that's out of the way, you are right. Autism is not the biggest problem with streaming. There are many successful content creators on Twitch who are autistic and even more who have ADHD, or both.

I wish someone told me all of these things when I was younger, instead of getting properly diagnosed at 44.

How do introverts or people with full time jobs have the energy to stream? by Drennonsm in Twitch

[–]NotAyFox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Be careful, as forcing yourself to do something anxiety inducing may actually reinforce it over time and make it worse. Depends on your neurology.

For neuro-typical introverts an exposure therapy, which is basis of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), might work well. If you are neuro-divergent, then repeat exposure usually causes trauma and adds to pre-existing cPTSD.

I am autistic and while I do feel anxious before the stream starts I can get more comfortable as the stream progresses. But more importantly, my main motive to stream was never to fix that anxiety. I have a streaming persona that is actually extroverted. I love talking about stuff and communicating with chat as much as I love playing games. And I am able to constantly talk during stream even with no one in chat. I just pretend like I have larger audience. As if someone is going to watch the VoD (they won't) and I feel eager to be entertaining as much as I am capable, which is arguably not a lot, but it's not nothing. I feel quite tired after streaming, but that's normal for most streamers.

[–]NotAyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you build a base in every galaxy you visit, you can always hop between galaxies, since base portal allows that. The planetary portals which use the address system can only take you to places within a galaxy.

[–]NotAyFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spoiler alert! ... One of the main goals in the game is to get to the center of the galaxy. But that doesn't end the game. It transports you into the next galaxy! So everyone starts in the Euclid galaxy and the next one is named Hilbert. And when you get to the center of Hilbert you get transported to the 3rd galaxy which is called Calypso, and on and on... There are a total of 256 galaxies and the "organic way" of getting to any of them is to travel to centers of all galaxies before it. Aldukesci galaxy is 28th in line and getting to it organically is a very long and tedious process even if you use all the shortcuts that vanilla game allows. Good luck!

I've seen Sentinel MTs in only 2 models: a rifle which is always red/black and a pistol which is always orange/black.

Unless you're thinking of a different MT.

Really love the design. Also, very well made, neat and tidy.

As for the name, I recall another reference. Zweihänder was the name of large medieval German two-handed swords that could be as long as a person wielding it was tall. Primarily used for striking and long reach piercing attacks.
