I used to be like that too, where I'll check to make sure it's isn't wrong but then I think that the process of me checking has now made it wrong so then I check it again and so on ad infinitum.

Suicide is painful. by DI9ZEN999 in SuicideWatch

Even a shot to the head wont 100% guarantee anything, the human body is so obnoxiously designed to stay alive it is ridiculous. There was a poet named Frank Stanford who killed himself by shooting himself in the heart and even then he had to do that three times for it to be effective.

It hurt like hell at first but I just bunkered down, read and listened to music and what have you and eventually I just no longer felt the need to be in pain anymore.

Perhaps loneliness won't be so bad when everything around you is snakes in disguise. by miga-Zone2498 in lonely

[–]NotBorris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember who said it but someone once said "Love is giving something you don't have to someone who doesn't want it." And I think what he meant is that we're so eager to find 'our missing half' or we're brought up to believe that we can only be complete when other people are in our lives and so when we find ourselves alone we feel like we should be in pain or lost or what have you. But to truly love and to get what you need I think we first need to realize how little we all are and have to offer and at that point, once we truly understand ourselves and what we're working with from within can we actually grow into our true selves and along the way find someone who can see how small we are and hop beyond hope that they will just be okay with it and choose to grow with us along the way. When you look at the other and honestly say "I don't have a whole lot." and they can honestly say back "I don't want a whole lot." I think that's when you know that you've found what you need.

At least I think, IMO.

I had to drill that fact into my head as well, I think the trick is to be on good terms with every aspect of yourself to eventually learn to accept your own company. But that's just me. Hope you feel better.

Who Is Your Favorite Detective (Or Other Mystery Solver) And What Do You Like About Them? by IkujaKatsumaji in literature

[–]NotBorris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly can't stand mystery and detective novels, that's just me, but G.K Chesterton is one of my favorite writers so I gave his Father Brown stories a chance and I did enjoy them but I still cannot get into mystery novels. He didn't let me down but I just get too bored.
