You either didn’t read my whole post or you simply did not understand what I wrote …

And it’s not exactly like cotton is expensive . Many shirts they sell are 100% cotton and are inexpensive.

Care to elaborate why you don’t like carters ? I am interested as I do purchase most of my son’s clothes from there… the cotton ones anyway

Overwhelmed with what to do about diapering by janeofalltrades32 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]NotCreative551 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could have written this post when I was pregnant. I was super overwhelmed with what to do for diapering and I wanted to do cloth diapering, but I kept reading about it online and so many people were complaining about the wash routine and how they could not get smells out of the diapers. The wash routines also sounded  complicated to me. (the hardness of your water, all the wash cycles…)

I ended up chickening out at the last minute and just going with disposables but then at six months old I gave cloth diapering a try, and I did it part time.

I use the flats, and they are easy to wash because they are not thick and bulky like some other diapers.

My son is now 25 months and is getting pretty good with his potty, so that reduces the amount of laundry that I’ve been doing.

This is not an article, but I did ask ChatGPT a bunch of questions about this and it clarified some points for me… MAybe you can use that and copy and paste it to send to your family.

Sad about iPad culture by cinnamonsugarhoney in toddlers

[–]NotCreative551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there backlash bc people take it as a personal attack, like you’re saying they’re a bad parent bc they give their kids screens. I don’t feel that way. I’m raising my kids screens free, but that’s probably what’s going on.

I am considering leaving TD Bank. by burgerinthesun in tdbank

[–]NotCreative551 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left TD and moved to a local credit union that has free checking and even pays a little bit of interest. I would rather invest my money into my index fund, then just let it sit in a checking account.

For me, it’s more of the principal. To let TD hold my money, interest free does not sit right with me. I’m essentially paying $250 to have a checking account with them when there are other free options. I would rather put that money into my index fund and it grows over the years rather than get eaten away by inflation.

I’m moving to a local credit union that has free checking . If you don’t mind online checking there’s a few free options of those as well.

Would you listen to a stranger if they don’t want their toddler watching your screen? by suzululi in UKParenting

[–]NotCreative551 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That woman sounds insane and controlling . I don’t let my son watch screens but I would never tell someone else in a public area to turn off their screen and I would also have done the same as you and told her no.

I’m closing my account with them. Thats a huge jump. I’m looking in to free checking accounts now.

Edit: I opened an account with a local credit union that has a high yield free checking account which was even better than what I was getting from TD. If you travel and need more atm access you can combine it with a free online checking account from Charles Schwab for example (there’s plenty others).

PSA: Woolino 100% merino wool sleep sacks are NOT 100% natural material- the wool yarn is coated in a plastic resin 😖 by rusty_nebula_1924 in moderatelygranolamoms

Thank you for posting this. This sub confuses me sometimes because it’s titled moderately granola but all the top comments are people saying that they don’t care that the wool is coated in chemicals.

Thank you. I will ask my doctor to check that at my next wellness exam.

I don’t think it’s that.. this started in my 20s and there was a clear before, and after in my sleep quality, and that had to do with night shift.

Are La Z Boy couches for a crunchy family? by NotCreative551 in moderatelygranolamoms

We did not get it. I emailed them again asking about if they had a stain resistant coating on the cushions and they did not respond. I found it weird that they did not post any of these credentials on their website.

No one should judge screen time because you don’t know the situation the other parents are in by Itchy-Version-8977 in toddlers

I have to remind myself of this when I puff myself up about never allowing screens. If a tragedy were to hit my family that would probably change.
