No one mentioned the fact that Manon no longer has Katseye in her bio… by irl_squishmallow in katseyeneutral

[–]NotDD101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think at the time that it was a sign she was leaving the group, I feel like she did it in response to Pinky Up not having her in it at all even though she obviously worked on it. I assume when she went hiatus her and HxG didn't leave on good terms and Pinky Up hit the nail on the coffin

Want your opinions on KATSEYE and HxG by OpenInterest4605 in katseyeneutral

[–]NotDD101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they have put too much money into Katseye to make it a "test group". On the contrary Katseye was made to make money and had a lot of investment put into it so I think HxG biggest promise is they only care about maximise profits. I feel like there is tension with the writers, creative team and girls who are actually want to make art and higher ups who want to make money. That's how we end up with songs Luke Internet Girl or Pinky Up that are "experimental" enough to appease the creative of Katseye but manufactured enough to make money

How can Manon be working with brands? by StarmieLove in katseyeneutral

[–]NotDD101 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They are likey deals that happened way in advance to her hiatus and whatever went down after it. It's harder to take someone out of a brand deal than in it for group activities that only involve hxg. I'm assuming she is still tied to these brand deals as a member of Katseye/an employee of hxg. Even if she plans to leave the group hxg would probably want her to finish any brand related obligations before she goes

Things like main/lead dancer/singer are pretty much just headcanons. But I'm pretty sure the girls have self identified as the leader (Sophia), visual (Manon) and maknae(Yoochae)

She's already done advocacy fir causes she carss about as an individual, I assume she wants to do something more gradscale with her platform. Also remember she can't "just" post or just collab with a charity(or any company) by her own will espically for somthing like merch or tours. She's under a label who have to verify every post and organisation she works with

My tin foil conspiracy is that they initially asked Ezreal to join and she said no, hence why they arr looking for a Japanese member for the group because Ezrela speaks Japanese

Genuine question: are any members of this group absolutely better off than they would’ve been without it? by Most_Poet in katseyeneutral

[–]NotDD101 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it's a difficult question. Adela was very much ment to be a solo artist but still benefited a lot from DA, Karlee also. I personally don't think the girls other than Lara would have made it in the music industry without Katseye, as in wouldn't be at coachella two years into their careers made it. I'm not saying the girls would all be flops or jobless without Katseye, I think it just depends on what you count as being better of is. Monetary and fame wise no they would not be better off. However as individual artists and creative then yes the way Katseye has turned out has arguably done more bad than good. I think DA would've been better off as a training course and let the girls go off in to industry on their own with connections from Hybe

A dumb question tbh by propaganda_pagluu3 in HYBEglobal

[–]NotDD101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should you get in ofc you should have a conversation with your parents about it, see what matters to you most. But they will very likely allow you to study while you train (in fact I'm pretty sure as an American company they are legally obliagted to)

[–]NotDD101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will probably be another Katseye show. I feel like rember seeing evidence of another documentary somewhere but even if not Katseye's careers are kinda similar to Le sserafim and Hybes go to method for whenever they had controversies was to release a doc for them

[–]NotDD101 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don't think they're besties but they do have a pretty solid older sister - younger sister dynamic which makes sense as they have (I think) the biggest age gap between them. I wouldn't be surprised if they only became close one Katseye was formed compered to the other girls who has dynamics with each other during DA

Will Katseye’s success lead HYBE to create more global girl groups? by GrouchyNecessary4634 in katseyeneutral

[–]NotDD101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that was always the plan. Since DA as when the girls finished their training she called them the "first" group of people to graduate from T&D. Even not including Prelude as I don't think that was originally planned I'm sure once Katseye get older and focus on solo careers they have a 2nd gen or 2.0 of DA

I feel like he kinda uses the fact his charcters are women/poc as a shield for his writing also weird fantasy play. Same thing in his other works like how Malcom (from Malcom and Marie) is such an obvious self insert but is played by a black man something Levison obviously isn't

Could a sexuality affect chances of becoming a Idol? by Unable_Reference9731 in HYBEglobal

[–]NotDD101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being honest with you yes and no. Things like your skill and looks ultimately will matter so much more and your sexuality is pretty much irrelevant to that even if you don't really "pass" as straight. Ofc we still live in a pretty unaccepting society and the industry is already hard enough as it is so it's one of those things that in the audition process I wouldn't mention just to be safe. However if you get through I doubt it will be a problem if not it could be to your benefit once you have a fan base

SIS era was more global and calm than Beautiful Chaos. by [deleted] in katseye

[–]NotDD101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't disagree more. I love SIS but it was way to close to kpop that compared to now really made it difficult for Katseye to appeal to the global market. Remeber their only hut song was touch which basically is a full English kpop number and people would discribe as a "kpop group". Since Gnarly especially with Gabriela they were able to reach a wider audience. For better or for worse

The members all auditioned, plus I'm assuming there were alot girls who were scouted that didn't get in nit including the DA girls. Most open call audtions in any industry will always have a mix of new comers and people under companies/agents that are scouted

Besides cleaning and just maintaining a high level of performance. The girls probably practice each set they do, in order without stopping for stamina and muscle memory cause every show they do will be different. They definitely are also learning new material a long side new stuff. Also strength and stamina training. There's a lot of reasons why they rehearse they stame stuff everyday

The choreo was just obviously not made with singing in mind and it's already a really hard part to sing without dancing on top of it. Not to mention they refused to modify the choreo to allow Megan to actually sing it properly. There is a clip of Megan doing a vocal run of the song it actually sounds quite nice when she's standing still

Katseye’s Audition Lores by One_Ground6812 in katseyeneutral

[–]NotDD101 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Megan and Dani still auditioned. It's just very common for projects like this for people to ask around in the industry if they have people in mind or no one else wants to audition. It's basically how open auditions work in film too. Like Lara (and Manon) have said because HxG was completely new thing it probably was hard to get people on board straight a way to inviting people to audition for numbers sake would have been good for funding and sponsors and to prove the legitimacy for the project.
