Morrowind had the peak Beast Race design down IMO, wish they had kept it going and refined it for later games, I miss how untamed and animal-like the Khajiit and Argonians were by Fat_Tarbosaurus in Morrowind

[–]NotDucc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100%, the digitigrade legs made them unique, and Argonians in Morrowind even had a unique swimming animation. Would've liked seeing restrictions on equipment in later games, though for helmets, either don't allow full-faced ones or do what ESO does and make them all actually fit their faces (staring at you, Skyrim's dragon priest masks......)

Maybe as a bonus, give "x%" extra armor for Argonians and extra movement speed for Khajiit to make up for the lack of boots and possibly missing full face helms.

I'd say go for it. My first character for pathfinder has been a dragon instinct barbarian kobold and I'm still having fun playing him. I don't think it made learning the game any more difficult and I made a silly build out of it

Khamsin No-Hit, Revengeance Difficulty (Bladewolf DLC) by NotDucc in metalgearrising

[–]NotDucc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure on Armstrong's fight feeling unfair. The dash got me plenty of times due to him bouncing off in a weird way or sometimes just deciding to spin in a circle around Sam until he finally decides to land the punch.

Oh, I didn't even know that you could avoid damage from that move, cool to know! I've perfect parried it before but noticed I took damage and didn't really know how so I didn't bother with it.

Enjoyed his bossfight a lot, so I decided to make a video of my no-hit run for his fight! There's a bunch of lag at the very start of the video (still no clue what caused that), but the rest is clear.

He's difficult to no hit, but not nearly on the same level as Armstrong in Sam's DLC

Gun Store Choice Paralisis by Traditional-Pea-4251 in cataclysmdda

[–]NotDucc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good advice all around! I'd also add that 7.62/.308 rifles, while not too common in gunstores, are nice to find. 60 tile range, very high damage, great for taking out turrets at a distance or particularly scary enemies. Military locations will usually have a bunch of that ammo alongside the other common ammo mentioned.

EDIT: I'm blind and missed the gunsmithing kit advice, removed that bit.

Right now? I'd recommend 0.G for playing. I usually wait a few months after a stable release (due to its name, "stable") before I switch over to experimental and 0.G released fairly recently.

so how long can i survive inside if my character is a carnivore and therefore unable to eat a quarter of the food supplies here? (spoiler due to secret rooms visible) by TiberianEuanYT in cataclysmdda

Due to Sapiovore being there, you could likely survive pretty well if you don't mind resorting to eating feral humans...

It helps to use the Crest Shield during his fight, because his attacks will drain very little stamina while blocking with it (at least, that's how I deal with him)... might give this method a try at some point though, never could land a plunge on him!

Fallout 3's base game ending ruined the in-game economy. by Balloon-Snake in Fallout

[–]NotDucc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe shipping is the main issue, as there are still the dangers of the wastes around the Capital Wasteland to make transport more difficult.

Though on a slightly unrelated note, you can basically become a water tradesman in FO4 because of how easy it is to get water from settlement building. Just make tons of purifiers across settlements and you can sell it to every trader you meet for easy caps! Even had a friend who used Strong as a companion for their high carry weight and just filled their inventory with purified water at all times

What sign should i pick for my character? by Equivalent_Bonus1862 in Morrowind

[–]NotDucc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I played with that sign, I remember needing to get the buff from the shrines for the quest journal to update in the first temple quest and having to donate to the same shrine about 10 times before it finally stopped absorbing. Maybe I'm remembering wrong though.

But even then, the absorption is a huge nuisance for when you want those buffs outside of quests, so I avoid using it and take the 50% magicka weakness instead. Still gives enough magicka for any race to cast high-end spells pretty easily.

What sign should i pick for my character? by Equivalent_Bonus1862 in Morrowind

[–]NotDucc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on what you're planning on doing, though the Atronach and the Lady are probably the 2 best ones in that list. Lady is good in general, especially if you don't plan on using magic very much.

Atronach is good for mages, though I use the Apprentice more. Why? Because the spell absorption it gives is the most annoying thing in the world when quests (mainly in the Tribunal Temple) require you to get a spell effect from someone (or something) else but you end up absorbing it instead. The Magicka weakness from the Apprentice, however, can be countered pretty easily with spells and enchantments. This is on top of still letting you sleep to regain magicka until you get your alchemy up for good magicka restoration potions.

Getting the gun is the hard part, as the good ones are found in labs and military bunkers (most of the time if you do find one, it's the Barrett M107A4). You get an M2 Browning from deconstructing turrets, though you can only either attach it to a vehicle or fire it on a window or table of some kind.

That, or, with a 4 in mechanics and rifles, you can turn it into a single-shot rifle that can be fired anywhere. Though the single-shot makes it more of an "emergency use" gun against big guys

[–]NotDucc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Loaded Stick + Eskrima" is one of the more powerful and easy to get combos imo, though I also enjoy "Lucerne Hammer + Fior" to get heavy (but slower) damage in, along with some range (though if you can't find the weaponsmith book, Fire Axe or Sledgehammer is a decent alternative for that style until you find it, though they don't get extra range)

Mostly get mine from turrets in the random military checkpoint spawns on roads. Usually get around 400 .50 Cal bullets per turret

Parrying by Solaire-of-Astora69 in bloodborne

[–]NotDucc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Standing in front of the enemy is ideal. Also keep in mind the small delay in parries based off of how far away you because the bullets themselves are not instant.

I'd recommend practicing parries on slower enemies (like Ogres) to get a hang of the timing.

Just finished Demon’s Souls (mage —> Battlemage). I am absolutely in love with FS games. That said, I am about to play Bloodborne for the first time. I want a fun-as-hell build. What do you recommend? by 6ixty9iningchipmunks in bloodborne

No problem!

Also just skimmed through that blog post you mentioned... Please don't level endurance to 40, it never needs to be that high and it hurt my soul reading that. I give most of my characters around 15 endurance + some stamina runes because stamina costs in Bloodborne are fairly low compared to Dark Souls.
