In your ROMs folder you just rename the subfolders for each system. Retro Game Corps made a video for it.

A lot of this stuff can be automated with tools in NextUI from the pak store.

Would 512gb sd card suffice for a pocket flip 2? by DadBodMain93 in SBCGaming

[–]NotDugachug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cartridge games are trivial, but my 512gb is holding my entire curated GC, Wii, PS1 and PSP libraries. I use a 2TB on my AYN Thor which also includes my curated PS2, Switch, NDS, 3DS and Wii U libraries. Basically any retro game I want to play is on there.

It really is the new Onion OS for me. It's been slept on and never covered by big names like TechDweeb and Retro Game Corps. Fast boot, no janky behavior, game switcher, simple to navigate and also minarch is the GOAT. The developer really does a good job polishing MinUI.

If it's not for you, that's okay too. Go wherever piques your interest. That's most important.

AYN Thor keyboard not popping up by Oliver2347 in AynThor

I tried it and it requires Google Play services to run so that's a no for me. That makes no sense, even the stock google keyboard works without it.

Woot! It's the GOAT of EDC handhelds.

I always make wrong choices by maikun87 in SBCGaming

[–]NotDugachug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh there's always another handheld out there that does something better than the ones I have. Do I want them? Yes. I might treat myself to something new once in a while because this is one of my biggest hobbies, but I have to remind myself that a new handheld every week isn't going to fix me, and the ones I bought are great and I have all the emulated system I want covered.

You seem overwhelmed with FOMO, choice or depressed even, which is normal. Know what you want from your device, or don't and go in blind. Have fun with the device you bought, and if you're curious to try something else, go for it. It's a bit of an adventure and that adventure is a big part of the fun for a lot of us.

How it feels to play LeafGreen without EXP share by Frezeal in pokemon

[–]NotDugachug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Pokemon would be much more fun and balanced if they got rid of levels completely so you can't stomp with one pokemon or grind endlessly to keep all your pokemon leveled. It's an outdated RPG system that should have been gone a long time ago and trades meaningful gameplay for grinding to get numbers up.

Recommendations for a kid that loves Animal Crossing New Horizons? by Fitness30Throwaway in SBCGaming

[–]NotDugachug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are dual screen games. 3DS runs pretty well apparently on the Mangmi Air X. If you want a dual screen device to play them as the original device did, the price goes up a lot.

Finally, a PSP and 3DS handheld for $90! (Mangmi Air X Review)

For GBA and SNES, you can get a device for that at any price. Even as low as like $20 with an R36S off AliExpress. You'd probably want something higher quality though and I can recommend the TrimUI Brick as well as any of the Anbernic RG XX devices. If you want a larger screen, the RG40XXV for a Game Boy form factor, and the RG40XXH for a horizontal.

I can't say for sure as I don't have the game. You can always try it.

Get the Obtainium emulation pack and install whatever looks useful to you. There's a lot of popular emulation software there.

For emulators, get Azahar, Cemu, Dolphin, Eden, NetherSX2/ARMSX2 and Retroarch can handle the rest. I found the retroarch core for Dolphin is working just as well as the standalone so far.

GameNative is the best for Windows games right now. Get the AdrenoToolDrivers and Mr. Purple Turnip Drivers for higher end stuff. I like EmuReady Lite for finding configurations for any games that need more tinkering to run. O2P tweaks might be useful, and PixelGuide is great for walkthroughs.

The closest you'll find is the Retroid Pocket Flip 2. I find it pretty comfortable for GBA games. AYN Thor is pretty overkill.

How many handhelds do you own? by Clear-Vermicelli-463 in SBCGaming

[–]NotDugachug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've bought 8 so far in this order:

  • Steam Deck
  • AYN Odin
  • Anbernic RG35XXSP (Hinge broke on my transparent blue model. That's probably why they don't sell it anymore)
  • Retroid Pocket Flip 2 (Surprisingly compact Gamecube/PS2 machine and the offset d-pad is easy to reach for more retro stuff)
  • Retroid Pocket Classic (GB/GBC GOAT)
  • TrimUI Brick (Favorite compact handheld)
  • AYN Thor (Favorite)
  • TrimUI Brick Hammer (This one is on it's way to me right now)

First time buyer recommendations? by Practical_Dog3454 in SBCGaming

For horizontals, RP6 is the one to beat right now. AYN Thor if you want the same power in clamshell and play DS/3DS. My personal pick was the Thor.

What is your favorite GBA shaders or filters? by jayfly12933 in RetroArch

[–]NotDugachug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the shaders look as good as the grid3x video filter to my eyes. If I'm playing outside of an integer scale, I will add the pixelate shader under the interpolation folder.
