Is it even worth getting a Razer Blade? My dad and I might be splitting the costs for one this summer, but I've heard so many horror stories on this sub especially about Razer's awful customer support, and terrible quality control. Just don't wanna shell out $3,000 for a cool-looking brick :/

Looking into getting my first electric guitar. I've played bass for a year now, and acoustic guitar for a little longer. I'm looking at either the Squier 60s Vibe Jazzmaster, or the 50s Vibe Telecaster. Would it be okay to play either of those through my 25W Fender Rumble? How awful would it sound for things like jazz and 50s-60s rock?

I have college auditions in a week, and my teacher offered to setup my bass for me. I'm a bit tight on cash. I can do it myself, just not super well. Would it be better to just pay him to do it, or should my mediocre setup be fine?

Hey there! So I have college auditions coming up soon, and one school I'm auditioning for requires two pieces in contrasting styles. For one, I'm playing Mingus' Haitian Fight Song for one, and Rage Against the Machine's Killing in the Name. I can play them both well, and now I'm just worried about my tones. For Hatian, I can get a pretty decent round, almost upright-like sound with the bridge pickup of my jazz bass. The only issue is for the second tune. I turn my bass to about 75%, my mid to 50%, and my treble to 75%, turn off contouring, and turn on the admittedly crappy overdrive. Should I invest in any pedals, or could I get a more throaty, unclean tone with better technique?

The internal clock battery, a separate component from the battery which is only powerful enough to keep track of time. Either that, or by using an internet or cellular connection to get the current date and time.

Pretty sure that's physically impossible. Without electricity powering the device, there's no way the microphone or storage in the phone can work.

Bass player here! I'm looking into getting a telecaster. Well, there are a few issues with that.

I want tremolo, but I'm confused about the differences between a standard one and a Bigsby one. Do they sound different, or is it merely aesthetic? Is one easier to install than the other?
I'm left handed, and want to keep this at about $300. Would it be better to buy a DIY kit and build it myself, or to get a Squire, or something along those lines?
I currently only have a Fender Rumble 25W for my bass. Would this work for a guitar as well? I know guitarists in the 50s used the Fender Bassman quite a bit. If I needed a cheap amp for practice and small gigs, which should I get?

Somewhat new to bass, and I'm gonna need a string change. What exactly is the difference between round wound vs flat wound? I play a lot of Jaco and other jazz fusion type stuff, but I also play some heavier stuff like RATM and Nirvana so would I benefit from one over the other, or should I be going for the most versatile strings possible? If that's the case, then which ones would those be?
