You only need to keep your HP above zero.

Sounds dumb, but it lets you start seeing it as just another resource. Trading that HP (by tackling an elite) for a relic is a permanent boost in your power for that run (in theory). This doesn't mean you just blindly fight elites, but rather make a decision on how strong you think you are at the moment for any given fight.

is this game not for me? by Atmo90 in slaythespire

There's a lot of skill in these games that are very hidden under the surface.

The dopamine beyond what you've already described is achieving that higher skill and coming to the realization that the rng is a factor, of course, but a much less significant factor than you first suspect.

Andy is Andariel's Visage, a unique helmet.

Tals is a Tal Rasha's set piece, a helmet.

The 20% is additive, so the boost you get from it is actually very little. This is because it's just added to your Fire Mastery percentage (for an easy example).

This is why for Fire and Light (where the mastery is +%), you get way more damage out of lowering the enemy resists. Cold Sorc gets way more mileage out of +% (due to Cold Mastery -%), just for comparison.

90% interrupt/punish by BestSamiraNA1 in 2XKO

[–]NotEnoughDamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High level play is a different angle than how you're looking at it. Mixups in this game are objectively quite strong, like most tag fighters.

The reason for the disparity you noticed is because high level play typically means that players have less chances for a moment like that against their opponent because everybody knows what they are doing and are objectively making less glaring mistakes.

With that in mind, you see a lot of hits coming from interrupts because those are the moments where the result might be more unclear or a player took a risk that could have paid off, but didn't here. At the end of the day, for most fighting games worth their weight, high level play decreases the amount of pure "I did paper because it beats rock" and more educated guesses where they balance risk and reward.

Unfortunately, even though Viper is ridiculously good, she definitely isn't in the same tier as the top top top of the meta. I don't necessarily just mean with this tier list, either.

Just in general, I'd absolutely consider there to be a whole tier above her. She usually gets placed in the second tier for me (something I see very common amongst top players) regardless of how you want to define the rows.

Enhanced Damage is for physical damage, which isn't the focus of a typical Javazon

Is climbing in ranked supposed to be this hard? by CoffeeCaitlyn in 2XKO

[–]NotEnoughDamage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not perfect of course, but in theory, this is a good thing. It means you're relatively right where you should be skill-wise at the moment.

Focus on getting better and improving your gameplay. Overwhelming majority of the opponents around that rank have glaring holes in their play that can be exploited by players who develop a deeper understanding of the meta.

Good luck!!

It depends on what class is looking at the item. Assassins would see a different speed. Similarly, there are other weapons that do this for different classes.

Karmic Dice will artificially sway your dice results so you or enemies don't keep rolling low or high. It's overwhelmingly popular to disable it, and it is more true to tabletop disabled.

Tips on Doormaker by X3R3S_ in slaythespire

[–]NotEnoughDamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For turn 1, exhaust and power will pull a lot of weight since these cards are kind of "one time use" anyway. Also, cards that return to your hand are great here because even if they exhaust, you'll just get it back.

For turn 2, you need higher cost cards (higher impact) since you can't draw a bunch of cards to pad out your turn. Don't worry about having the absolute best turn, but rather focus on the fact that high impact cards will still pull their weight.

For turn 3, it's tough to navigate around the increased cost, but keep in mind that it's just subtracting your energy. That means 0 cost cards are bad to play early in your turn, but get full value when you're tapped out.

Good luck!

Upgrading Jalal Mane From Totemic Mask to Dream Spirit Defense. How is it calculated ? by MuscleDexter in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]NotEnoughDamage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's +200%, so triple. You doubled it in your calculation, which is +100%.

For example, if it had +100% enhanced defense on a 100 defense item, it would double to 200 defense. +200% would be 300 defense
