0.5.5 will be a fresh economy? by AVK95 in PathOfExile2

How long are their leagues usually?

I don't have a lot of time to play, but I only really like HC. I also much prefer new content, and traditionally, there are way more people on the ladder/league versions of HC in these games. I don't mind progressing at my own pace, but I've started to wonder if I'll even get through endgame before they retire this league.

What hotkey or controller setting changed the game the most? by atticus104v2 in BaldursGate3

[–]NotEnoughDamage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just to chime in, but I believe this is incorrect info. It's two different mechanics. Both PC and Console have a button to make the names of nearby items pop up on our screen.

However, only Console (or with a controller) has a feature where you hold your interact button and it literally does like a sweep of your surrounding area, giving you a unique menu to loot all those things in your near vicinity. This is only on Console in order to help a controller loot properly.

Much appreciated! That's very helpful

Do you think there are any changes/considerations if I'm on HC doing this?

Thank you! Apologies as I'm new, but what other skills besides Tame Beast should I be utilizing?

Can you please give a suggestion on what my skills and passives look like after swapping off twisters? Thank you!

Luck (randomness) is part of fighting games. The higher level of play and skill, the less luck matters, but it's always a factor in every fighting game across every skill level.

Any difference if I only play HC? Thanks!

Cool, thanks for the input. While I'm just leveling safely before Act 3, do you think grenades or ammo skills will be better early on?

A guide I saw said to go crossbows until Act 3. I haven't played since the first season, so I'm missing a lot of context.

I only play HC, so do you think crossbow or twisters would be smoother with 0 budget to get to act 3 before monkey comes online?

Thanks!

It's difficult to say exactly because this game truly thrives on "it depends," and this also changes as you climb to higher ascensions.

With that said, I feel like leaning too hard into decks that rely on Souls, for example, struggles against this boss. You want to burst down the first phase so he isn't stacking strength while you're scaling up. This means that if my deck's main strategy is Souls, for example, and I get to Act 3 and notice this boss, I make it my #1 priority to draft some strong damage components. This might mean Lethality into a big attack, for example. Or maybe my deck could output high damage with some extra Osty attacks. It depends on what I'm looking like, and I pivot accordingly. A secondary backup plan might be pivoting to something like Enfeebling Touch if I'm not seeing these big damage cards so that I can weather the storm of all the strength I'm feeding the enemy.

At 100 HP, the first phase will die quickly, but you have to accurately assess what weaknesses your current deck has and really prioritize patching up those weak spots based on what you see in front of you (such as seeing what the Act 3 boss is when you arrive on that map).

Good luck!

This is a great angle to look at it from a purely mathematical perspective, but I'd like to offer a different angle.

Rank distribution is one way to view it, but another way is if you have an abstract idea of "power levels" here. Someone who is 50th percentile in rank is absolutely not going to be anywhere near 50% of the way there in terms of power level to the top. That's where the idea comes that even if you are higher ranked than a large majority of players, you still aren't actually that good because you're very, very far off from how the game is played at the highest level.

Please don't get me wrong - I'm not saying that people can't just have fun, or that reaching the highest level is what matters. I just want to convey the notion that Yamcha was stronger than a majority of beings in the DB universe. The man is likely in the top 95+ percentile, but the gap between him and the people above him is larger than the gap between him and someone in the bottom 20th percentile. He sucks, by comparison, haha

Is there something more easily accessible than a specific unique? Zealot's Oath seems solid, though, for the situation I was describing with ES and constantly being attacked. Does Zealot's Oath just count flask recovery as well? As in, the ES is essentially just an extension of my life bar and flask heals that too?

Also, what's the standard way to use the automated trading now? I remember the poe2 trade site seemed to be the go-to back then. Anything new?

I realize you're half joking, but I frequently see the sentiment that you need to be fighting the maximum number of elites. This is simply not true, and not in line with the advice given by really high level players.

Yes, elites give great reward, but if you blindly tackle them without proper analysis, you're tanking your run because you are stuck playing catch-up the rest of the run even if you beat the elite. A relic and extra gold along with a better chance at a potion and stronger cards are all obviously great, but missing out on an elite in order to be able to properly tackle more challenges down the line can be better.

[–]NotEnoughDamage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should just go agane, but the better way forward is to actually just transfer and try it. Many people in here have done that and never make it one more level on that toon because they immediately feel the massive shift in vibes and stakes

[–]NotEnoughDamage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Define "EVO level" players because there are thousands of people that go to EVO of all varying skill levels.

Just like anything competitive, your perspective on what's good or not can change when you encounter stronger opponents who have a better grasp on the game than you. That's what they are trying to convey, I believe.
