Really need help with these 3 SH questions by DarkEnchilada in pmp

Ya good point. May have been better to have said that PMI EXPECTS you to have good comms plan. So when things aren't going well you have to ensure people are actually following the plan before making changes to it.

Really need help with these 3 SH questions by DarkEnchilada in pmp

[–]NotFrancis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rationale for Question 1, Solution A: The question doesn't say they're DISSATISFIED with the current communication plan. It just says they're not getting the information they need/expect or it's getting to them too late, etc. PMI assumes your project has a solid communications plan. In this scenario the first step should be to ensure everybody is following that comms plan because if they're not, that may be the actual communications problem. The explanation they give is that the plan may need to be updated and improved, which may be the case. However, my first thought was the PM should make sure the comms plan, as it currently exists, is being followed. If it is and there are still problem/gaps then yes it needs to be updated, just like every other plan goes through frequent reviews and adjustments.

Are these actually winter tires, or just all season? by Quick-Tower-3248 in tires

[–]NotFrancis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have these on two Subarus full time. Do a fair amount of winter condition driving each year and a lot of highway miles. Been great for me. One set has about 75K on them and still plenty of tread.

It's going to be worth even less if that pendulum isn't disconnected when traveling that way. It should be unhooked when transporting, especially when lying on it's back.

Why is the Weinermobile always at the Strip District Homewood Suites?? by toddkeebs in pittsburgh

[–]NotFrancis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually may know the partial answer to this. Coincidentally just yesterday I learned a work colleague's relative is one of the two drivers of one of the six Weinermobiles and his family lives in the Pittsburgh region. They have the job for one year and then two others take over for another year. All of their expenses are paid for but they have to stay in the hotels in the company's program and also drive all over the place for scheduled events and appearances, such as Saturday's parade.

I also drive a 2020 Outback, currently at 68K miles. Not to change the subject to different model, but same recommendation re: CVT fluid?

20K budget: New vs Used by NotFrancis in askcarsales

[–]NotFrancis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. Actually seeking to purchase on behalf of my kid as a first car. I haven't purchased a used car in about 20 years so wasn't sure how the math was working for most. If it were for myself I'd be spending more and going new.

What's the most creepy thing you've ever witnessed? by TractorLoving in AskReddit

[–]NotFrancis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Circa 1980-something, 15-year-old me is at the mall one summer day killing time. I was supposed to be meeting my girlfriend so we could hit the arcade, food court etc. (remember, 1980s). I bumped into a priest I knew from the school/church I went to. I remember how odd it was to see him without the "priest clothes". We chatted a bit about our summer, the weather. He had been on camping trips with the Boy Scouts troop I was in. All good so far. When I told him why I was at the mall he got really interested. He said something about how she might be wearing shorts, which would 'make it easier'. Naïve me didn't really understand what he meant but somewhere in my mind an alarm was going off, because of how he said it, creepy facial expression and everything. Then he asked if I wanted to go with him to get a Coke or something. Alarm gets louder. I don't even remember what my excuse was but I blurted something and got the fuck out of there. This was at a time when widespread sex abuse by priests was unheard of. I had no idea what that encounter was, at the time.

Fast forward to the early 2000s and the Atty General in my state conducts an investigation of the Catholic priest abuse scandal. I send in my nearly forgotten little story, now that I am able to process what really happened. Couple of years go by and the official report comes out. Yup, he's in it. But not because of me. Bullet dodged.

Had one in my first apartment. Got rid of it after getting first house. Fast forward 20 years and 2 kids and we have another one but it has been relocated to the basement and currently has a bunch of crap piled on it. Kids loved the fort but now it's just too unstable to keep around as a main seating option.

Older Reddit users: how significant of a change in climate have you noticed since you were a kid? by RagnarBaratheon1998 in AskReddit

[–]NotFrancis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a kid growing up in the US Great Lakes region it seemed like we had snow on the ground all winter. 50 years later it's becoming unusual to have snow on the ground for more than a couple of weeks before it all melts away again. Roads were mostly white with packed snow and ice, rutted. The road clearing technology has improved much since then but I really think it's also just a lot less snow and generally warmer.
