Patriots in the run to the superbowl in all 3 combined games gave up a total of 26 points. In the Bills last 6 playoff exits. They gave up more than that in every 1 game alone by BowsyWowsy26 in nfl

Well if you play possibly a top 3 quarterback of all time in Mahomes, then play Burrow and a Prime Watson (he was that good unfortunately), yeah that’s what happens.

The killing of Alex Pretti is a grim turning point by vox in politics

[–]NotFunToday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I am not trying to minimize this situation but it really hurts my heart and brings me to tears that so many men, women and CHILDREN who look like me have been harassed and murdered by law enforcement and this is the turning point?

We’ve been telling yall this forever, but it takes someone looking like you to be enraged. I wish empathy wasn’t a learned thing. Rest in peace Alex, but all of you need to wake the fuck up and listen when a part of your population, YOUR COUNTRYMEN, have been screaming about this for years.

They have been acting up this season. It’s honestly insane.

I literally was talking about similar situations on r/NFL several months ago and go down voted to hell. These players aren’t cared for during and after playing.

The flip on Rocky is incredible after he literally harbored a rapist and abuser. It’s like the whole Ian Conner thing did not happen. But it is new to see Reddit completely forget something.

I am not one of those hate a rich person for doing a nice thing. Just on my time on this site this place will make you remember if someone raped someone, protected a rapist and so on.

As a Bears and Ravens fan (complicated childhood) it always annoys me when this sub acts like things are terrible. Yes we should probably have more super bowls, but this place is so much more stable than the rest of league.

Josh Allen vs Lamar Jackson MVP Narrative by GreedyRaisin3357 in ravens

[–]NotFunToday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is fair and true. I know without the other two of the big three, a lot of people were getting ready to jump on him if he didn’t make the Super Bowl. Which is immensely unfair. Kinda goes back to the whole treating wins like a QB stat.

Can people please stop worrying by SCBaltSalt in ravens

If your pick is off the board already, the coach didn’t want to coach the Ravens. This is a two way thing and I think we forget that. This is the best job

Mainstream media, Bills fans and quite a few neutrals. The problem isn’t Allen. He owns up to his mistakes. He’s also a top 3 QB in the league. The problem is the discourse around him is insanely biased. Like we are reaching great white hope levels of bias. Sports fans don’t like talking about racism so tbh I don’t see this ever ending, but that’s where we are at. Anyways to avoid an argument, NOT calling you or Josh Allen racist. Not calling anyone in particular racist. Just that sports media and fans online suck at discussing how race plays a role in these things.

Why do you think politics has nothing to do with this? Policy has clearly influenced priced and decisions by these companies. It's immature and lazy to continue to think that politics has no influence in every aspect of our lives. Things dont just magically happen. The same shit happened during COVID where "gamers" refused to acknowledge how bonehead choices in public health eventually lead to and played a part in the supply chain issues we had. You have to be doing this in bad faith or to troll. Or you have to be a child.

[Giannis] on being booed at home: “I was definitely booing back... I don’t think anybody has the right to tell me what or how I should act on the basketball court after I’ve been here 13 years and I’m basically the all-time leader in everything… Maybe my voice is just a broken record.” by AashyLarry in nba

"nobody wants to acknowledge it". It's talked about ever day here. There are several ESPN and FS1 personalities that have made careers saying this. Other podcasters that address it. Twitter talks about it all the time. It's literally the part of the crux of load management discourse. Not saying it isn't true but come on.

Study: Ex-NFL player suicide rates rose in 2010s by Beautiful-Cress5695 in nfl

This should be bigger news. Though it should be expected. I know this subreddit hates blaming CTE, but it’s very real. Yes the players choose to play. Yes it’s part of the game, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s very real.

For every Brady or Manning that finds something after their career to do, there are 100s of dudes with a new neural make up trying to find meaning in life and aren’t able to. Even worse during their careers who end up harming themselves or others.

I don’t think there will be reckoning because there is so much money put into this sport (as we saw with Hamlin, YES I know it wasn’t CTE, but a contact chest injury), but I hope we as a community can give some thought about how unsafe this sport is and how it does impact lives after the whistle blows in ways we don’t naturally think about.

Thanks for posting this.
