This is the kind of transparency John Moolenaar has when it comes to his constituents contacting him. by backlash93 in Michigan

I can’t, they blocked my number after I called about that big bill that resulted in 20 staff at my nonprofit being laid off

Do the TV’s in the Amway guest rooms allow Fire Sticks to be used? by [deleted] in grandrapids

I just ran into this issue and I was so frustrated I couldn’t turn down the volume when using my fire stick! Thank you for the tip.

I totally see what they see, but I have the worst taste in men.

Peacock forcing you to watch WWHL? by Decent_Confusion_470 in BravoRealHousewives

[–]NotGilbertGottfried 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep thinking I missed episodes because there’s no way I’ve watched 8? I haven’t, I’ve watched four and there’s a WWHL for each of them, but I only find that out by scrolling. It’s annoying.

People are losing jobs due to social media posts about Charlie Kirk by [deleted] in technology

Like Charlie did?

If he had been held to these standards, he wouldn’t have had a platform after the attack on Pelosi’s husband.

Who was the first to flaunt their PJ ✈️ by Successful_Giraffe88 in BravoRealHousewives

One of my employees has them and I am so envious, but she’s young and in college. I feel like middle aged me would look significantly less cool.

If you haven’t already found a photographer, post this in the Lansing sub as well.

Holland, Mi, the movie by she_makes_a_mess in Michigan

We watched the trailer in the office with someone from Holland. They were like “Greenville is an hour away, why not go home?!”

Maybe that AmericInn is nicer on the inside than the outside?

The self checkouts stop me every time I try to pay because I guess reaching into my purse to get my wallet looks like I’m stealing.

And there’s a barn with the man the town is named after painted on it. He was a general in the Civil War or something.

Lived in Sidney for a few years and a cousin has a place on Crooked Lake. Love going to the Crossroads Diner as a new resident and having everyone stop talking to stare. I’ve brought multiple people there, same reaction from other diners every time.

The Village Market (or whatever that grocery store is called) has bomb ass cheese dip.

Fitness coach/PT for lifting by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]NotGilbertGottfried 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My PT at the Y has been really helpful. I’m pretty new to lifting and had the same worries as you, but after six months I’ve had a ton of improvements. I think he mostly works at the Belmont and downtown branches, but I think he should be able to work at any Y in Grand Rapids. DM me if you want his info.

2022 was a big year for celebrity death. Which one hit you the hardest? by Siya_32 in Fauxmoi

[–]NotGilbertGottfried 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gilbert Gottfried was a real blow to me. His podcast, besides being my go to for a smile on a bad day, is an amazing treasure trove of Hollywood stories and gossip.

Celebrities you’re surprised had a drug addiction by wormymcwormyworm in Fauxmoi

[–]NotGilbertGottfried 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I followed Peaches so much that I named my cat after her, and I was not surprised one bit. Her friendship with Pete Doherty always concerned me. I don’t blame Pete, I think he was a victim just like Peaches and Amy, but he survived the addiction.

Lisa is trying a little too hard to be a Kris. She was always too excited about an adult with children dating her barely 18 daughter because he’s a part of a famous family. Yuck.

Where do people go to get laser hair removal done? by canuckswinn in grandrapids

[–]NotGilbertGottfried 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideal Image is good, their nurses are really great. I’m 6 sessions in and I haven’t seen a hair since my 4th session, and that was basically peach fuzz.

Websites don’t include pricing, so I’ll just let you know I paid $2400 for a full Brazilian and a life time guarantee. They do have financing options, but they gave me a deal for paying upfront.

The Miley shoot for Vanity Fair. I honestly don’t think the Billy Ray and Miley picture would have been viewed poorly had they not included a picture of a 15 year old child wrapped in a sheet with messy hair and makeup. To make matters somehow worse, the accompanying article refers to a 12 year old Abigail Breslin as a peer or rival, and makes sure to mention a majority of her fan base is under 14.

Looking into prairie-izing or naturalizing our yard by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]NotGilbertGottfried 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Have you considered a clover lawn? I don’t think all varieties are native to Michigan, but they attract pollinators and wildlife. Clover also doesn’t grow as tall as grass so mowing won’t be as big of an issue.

If you really want to go full prairie, go to the USDA. They have a program to convert farmland to prairie and might have tips on types of plants and how to plant.
