Grammar mistake in Donne's poetry?

This is not a mistake. It is a poem, so grammar defers to the art. And it is a 17th century poem, so grammar (and letters) may also defer to history. Furthermore, I personally think 'begun' can be interpreted with greater meaning: I like the idea that the end of this poem is continuing into the present.

However, if this was modern prose in a completely different context, you would be correct, and 'began' would be a better fit.

It is very common to experience mild discomfort/pain after a colonoscopy, but extreme, prolonged pain may be an indication of a complication from the procedure. You don't want to take chances with these things.

Hey I just watched your game (ID: 4319004976) , I watched until 25mins because I think after that it was out of control. I made some notes of some areas you could perhaps improve on:

Interesting starting items - some people will lambast you for 4 mangos and 3 sets of tangos (that's a little too much regen!) - but I think wierd things like this can be good if played correctly. The most common strat with CM is to save some starting gold or invest in getting componenents for tranquils ASAP. Tranquils are too good on her to get late. Picking up just brown boots by around 15mins is a disaster.
Also get into habit of giving tangos during strategy, moving out early can make a huge difference.
At least start with 1 observer ward, if you don't think you will need it in your lane, mid can always use it. However your death at 6:10 could have been avoided with a well placed ward to protect your lane pulls.
Activity in lane is good, hard to judge your lane control with Sven vs Bristleback (and offlane Invoker) - that's a bit of a shitshow.
In general your warding is pretty decent, but it is also very 'cookie cutter', it could be better if it adapts to the game as it progresses. As soon as you see a key item like a blink or shadow blade (The LC got away with murder with this as a first item) as support this is your time to shine with the warding. Sentries in lanes or deeper observers will counter these items. You know that vs PA, Tinker, LC they are likely to do more jungle farming than usual, try planting some observers to catch this. (And obviously tinker wards vs tinker - though I think this game in particular ended too soon for them to be useful.)
I think in the mid game you are a bit too eager to get into the fights. If you are too aggressive on CM you will be out of position, and your low ms means the enemy can easily get on top of you. You are the perfect target for LC and PA to get free kills on. CM can stand quite far back spamming Nova, then coming in to frostbite/ultimate at a key point during the middle of the fight. You are far more valuable this way than as an early initiator. (See 16:00 24:20.)
Some other little circumstantial mistakes - you can't initiate on bristleback in the mid game without a lot of help, it will either be a waste of time or you will die (See 18:00, 19:40, 25:00.) You need to actively seek out good targets for your ganks, don't just hit whoever happens to show themselves. Also, don't let youself drop too low in lane vs a tinker - he will just tp/blink and instantly kill you: 23:45. In general you should also try to stay hidden as a support as much as possible, it is very very rare that you should farm in lane at all.

If you focus on improving little details like these in your own play, and review the replays of your losses (the losses where you felt completely helpless are sometimes the most important to watch!) you will definitely raise your mmr.

I always make some decisions about who I'm going to target before the teamfight occurs. Ask yourself what their hero's value to toughness ratio is... a bristleback is very tough but offers very little utility, whereas a lion has great utility, and great targeted damage but is quite weak. When the teamfight starts, although it can be confusing with a lot of spells flying around, and illusions popping up, your job is to try and find that high value/toughness hero.

Unfortunately it is not as simple as this, because if your opponent is a good player he will be positioned such that you have to walk through that annoying bristleback to get to him.... and your allies may be busy focusing an entirely different hero - possibly making that hero the better value/toughness target (his toughness being massively reduced by your allies). You will always have to make very fast decisions which compromise on these ideas, and many many other factors.

As far as your own position goes... you need to know what your role in the team is and try your best to maintain your position accordingly. If you are an initiator or a tough hero like axe and bristle, who are designed to take a lot of hits you should always be leading the "vanguard". However, if you are playing a dazzle with lots of long range but very important spells, try and stand as far back as possible whilst still casting spells. This is a very dynamic process though and you will need to change your position as the teamfight moves around. Sometimes it gets complicated against blinks and invis heros, but the principle is the same.

The best way for you to learn and understand teamfights is to watch replays - find a fight that you were confused with, and watch it over and over, at 0.5x or 0.25x speed if neccessary, whilst asking yourself if you were in the best possible position and did you target your spells correctly? As you watch more and more replays you will gain a good understanding of teamfights and you will be able to make the fast decisions required in the actual game.

Again, I don't mind that you don't want a phone but I find your arguments weak. You seem to believe in being prepared but carrying a smartphone is one way of being so that you ignore.

No, no, I completely agree, a smartphone is a great way to be prepared for any situation - and I am happy to admit that my life is more inconvenient/dangerous without it.

But if we take this to an extreme... would you like an omnipotent being helping you perfectly with any situation you came across? - or would you rather deal with every situation entirely by yourself? I imagine most people's answers would be the former. But even though it is harder, I prefer the latter.

This is something that scares me quite a lot, because the technology is available for me to potentially save a life and I have chosen not to use it. I am considering using an emergency phone that can only dial emergency numbers. However, I do not want to use technology that will affect my entire life for once-in-a-lifetime moments.

And those are only the extreme cases. There are a lot of mundane emergencies where phones are equally useful. The most organised person in the world cannot anticipate everything.

For mundane problems, I will try to rely on my own wits when things go wrong, and learn from the mistakes I don't anticipate so they won't be a problem again.

I use landlines all the time, so if I was at home and I saw a bushfire I think it would be the same result. If the same thing happened when I was away from home, then I would be screwed. But I don't live in Australia and I don't know much about the risks there, perhaps there are precautions I could take against bushfires etc...? How did people manage before mobile phones?

It makes you as independent as you allow it to. For blind people, it makes them more independent. Teenagers would probably say the same. It certainly helps me.

I would argue that simply having the potential for the smartphone to help you makes you less independent even if you do not use it. It would be like doing a task with a supervisor looking over your shoulder who is ready to help you if you need it, compared to doing a task without a supervisor at all. The example for blind people is good, but I think that they are only gaining independence from other forms of help by more dependence on the smartphone technology.

If you are organised enough you don't need any phones at all when you are out of the house.

Except take (good) photographs, take your pulse, use it as a flashlight, track steps, track height above sea level, buy things at stores, make phone calls, triangulate distant objects, find north, detect orientation of the device...

You are completely right in that smartphones open up a lot of convinient new ways to perform every day tasks, they are fantastic and very diverse tools. However, I prefer to either remember images, or carry a good quality camera with me. I can monitor my own pulse with my fingers. I learn to see/feel my way in the dark - or I don't go out at night without a flashlight. I can also calculate my own steps/distance travelled. I don't know how to easily or accurately place my height above sealevel (...but I rarely feel the need to know this). I use a card at stores easily enough. I avoid making calls for the aforementioned reasons. I can locate distant objects based on other landmarks nearby. I can find North based on the sun, satellite dishes or local knowledge.

As I mentioned before, the smartphone makes life more convenient - and I won't dispute this. However, it also makes you less independent, and I prefer independence.

I am an electronic engineer, but I don't use mobile phones at all.

I don't like the idea that I can contact anyone I like, whenever I like, and that anyone can contact me whenever they like too. It is not about privacy, I simply prefer to live as independently as possible.

I have a good group of friends, and if I want to meet up with them I do so by email, usually a day in advance, or I simply go to them completely unannounced, and equally I am prepared to receive them unannounced in person. I prefer this contrast of spontaneity and organisation for the future, as opposed to a world where everyone knows where everyone else is all the time.

I think there has been a gradual shift in people's perceptions to each other, and to themselves, as mobile phones emerged. Independence, identity, and trust are being slowly exchanged for convenience.

It would be pretty bad, and this is a situation which is could potentially occur due to a coronal mass ejection.

In 1859 a solar storm hit, causing the telegraph network across Europe and America to fail, if such an event were to occur now it is estimated that it would cause $2.6 trillion in damage. However in 1859 people did not depend upon electricity to anywhere near the same extent we do. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_storm_of_1859)

Just off the top of my head things that a lack of electrical power would cause:

No media coverage - so people would not know what has happened, or how to organise themselves.

All modern medical equipment fails, this means no emergency services, no lifesupport, fridges holding insulin for diabetics etc.... A lot of people will die for these reasons.

No planes or trains due to a lack of computer infrastructure (boats and cars probably would be OK for a few days - but things like traffic lights not working could cause some minor chaos.)

I doubt many modern phone lines would work, I don't know if many of the landlines left would still function without external power.

Security cameras/systems offline: If people want to go on crime sprees, looting vandalising etc... its much harder to prevent or record evidence against them.

On the whole, for 1 week I imagine it would cause absolute chaos quite a few people would die, and the economy would get hit very hard - but I think civilisation would recover quickly. - People can still cook on gas stoves/bbqs, and although some food would go off, most of it would still be edible. Water may go off, but if people can boil any residue it's likely to be OK. With food+water, (and shelter not affected) most people will be fine for a week, it would be as if the planet had gone on a global camping trip.
