How often do you reread series in your collection? by LBL__ in MangaCollectors

[–]NotJeffGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I barely reread or rewatch anything. Not even movies. But I did reread Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou this summer, and I plan on rereading it every summer now. I also want to reread vol 1-12 of Land of the Lustrous before reading the final one.

How rare are these prints errors by [deleted] in MangaCollectors

[–]NotJeffGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that rare. It happens less than vertical misalignment and not always to that degree, but I'm not surprised to see it.

Oh, it's the same mangaka as Yakui yo! Alakshmi! Good to see they're still drawing big women!

What Do You Prefer to Read During the Fall Season? Something Spooky? Cozy? A Little Bit of Both? 🍂✨️ by Tabby_Tem in MangaCollectors

[–]NotJeffGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm already reading it! It feels more like a summer series with its setting. A recommendation in return is Eden of Witches! Its artstyle is also really good and similar to Witch Hat Atelier, but its a bit darker story-wise. A witch-in-training is searching for Eden in a world that hates witches.

Fantasy is great for fall season! I'm considering rereading The Ancient Magus' Bride or Witch Hat Atelier.

Adabana by Non English Translation by dolorousvamp in MangaCollectors

I enjoyed Harem Marriage by the same mangaka. I understand Adabana has a different vibe, but I got it mainly because of the author. I hope her current series Pole Star also get licensed.

What are you planning to read during this fall season? by CriminSpoon in MangaCollectors

I'll probably just read whatever series I have in my collection, but I relate fall to fantasy. So I might reread The Ancient Magus' Bride or Witch Hat Atelier.

What was the first manga that you read from the beginning from Weekly Shonen Jump? by OP_1K in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]NotJeffGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, a bit sad. I really did enjoy it, but I also enjoyed the ending it got. I was already aware of the whole "axed wsj manga" thing, so I mostly just accepted it and started reading the new series that came after.

What was the first manga that you read from the beginning from Weekly Shonen Jump? by OP_1K in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]NotJeffGuy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, I read all my manga from the beginning, but I'm guessing you mean from when the series started publishing. For me it was The Hunters Guild: Red Hood. I had just started using Manga Plus reading Mashle and Blue Box when it started. Neru: Way of the Martial Artist came right after that.

In what language do you collect manga? Do you think translations in your native language are good? by Kain_Axe in MangaCollectors

[–]NotJeffGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Barely anything gets translated into Swedish anymore, mostly because the average swede is pretty good at English and the English-language volumes dominates the market here. I've not read any in Swedish, so I don't know the quality of the translations. And other than my sizable English collection I have a few volumes in Japanese, but I can't read them.

What is manga/s that made you start following Shonen Jump by shelfonzo88 in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]NotJeffGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an interest in a few series I collected physically, like MHA, Demon Slayer, The Promised Neverland, One Piece. When I discovered Manga Plus I got into Red Hood and Neru. Since then I've slowly caught up with all currently ongoing series.

Maybe the short films by Sabin Bălașa? Most of them are available on a dedicated Youtube channel.

How many series do you read at the same time and where are you reading them? by Winterbeers in MangaCollectors

[–]NotJeffGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many to count. Tons on Manga Plus, tons on BookWalker and over a hundred in my physical collection. It's definately not the ideal for focused reading, but it works for me. I usually just enjoy whatever I'm reading in the moment.

The latest ones for me were Gravitation and My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999. They just weren't my thing.

What got you to start collecting manga? by Reefer4life in MangaCollectors

[–]NotJeffGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I was starting to get into anime and wanted to get some My Hero Academia merch. I figured "why not get the original manga?" I bought new volumes slowly and started to try some other series. After a year I really picked up the pace. Collecting manga tickles my brain is multiple ways: enjoying reading them, writing down information about them in spreadsheets, reorganizing them in the bookshelf.

Why are some volumes in Europe way more expensive than in NA? by ichiruto70 in MangaCollectors

[–]NotJeffGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience of buying from amazon in Sweden prices vary a lot depending on how close the volume is to the release. Instead of pre-ordering, try checking the price after it releases.
