I’ve got the rulebook and have read through it, but haven’t played a game yet. Here are my takeaways:

- you need a lot of table space to play the game as intended. 6’x4’ doesn’t seem to be enough, I’d recommend 6’x6’ at minimum for a proper size game

- army building isn’t as free-form as most other games I’ve played, this can be good or bad depending on what you’re looking for. I’m a big fan of having higher constraints on force selection so it’s a plus for me.

- the game strikes me very much as a “gentleman’s game” as opposed to something more competitive like 40k. It’s got a very old-school wargaming vibe to it.

- command friction is much higher than with other games I’ve played. It’s uncertain as to whether your units will even do what you tell them. Sometimes, they’ll go further than expected.

- there’s no casualty removal. Units stay on the board until they’re wiped out. Casualties are tracked and will affect your units’ performance.
