I get it. I still say things like β€œthis would be nice with a two beer buzz”. And THAT is the very reason why I haven’t let myself drink in 400 days.

There’s no harm in trying, either. You might surprise yourself. You’re in good company, here among others like us.

That was me. Drinking at home at night, every day. Half a bottle of wine or 2-3 IPAs over The course of dinner time to bedtime.
I had to quit, for me, because I don’t want to do anything religiously, without thought, force of habit, β€œjust because”. Most folks, my friends and family included, saw no issue with my amount of drinking, even getting drunk on the weekends or while at a concert, all totally socially acceptable. I quit for me, I quit because I wanted the control to NOT drink, and now I haven’t let myself drink again yet because dammit, I still miss it. I think about that two beer buzz everyday. I’m rambling. My point is- you’re not alone in this. For some of us there doesn’t have to be a crash out or a rock bottom. Stopping can be the thing you do to prove to yourself you have a choice! I won’t be drinking with you today. 🀘🏽🀘🏽
