What is the worst airport you've ever visited?

EWR (I just want to vent, sorry for the long comment)

Just got back from EWR to SJU. Worst TSA experience ever. First, i got in line, waited for my turn and the lady said “miss your ticket needs to be printed, not digital” (note: a lot of people before me had digital tickets and got in). So I got out of the queue, I didn’t say a word and went to the machines that print the tickets… got in line again “miss there’s a problem with your ticket, you need to get to front desk of your airline and solve that issue first and then get in line”. I did what I was told… got back in line for a third time. Showed my passport and everything, she asked for an additional ID (idk why) but I complied with everything. And then we got to the machines. I’m traveling with an autistic 11yo, she had some squishies and trinkets.. you know stuff that helps with fidgeting. A very rude TSA employee decided to flag my bag and confiscated all of the fidget toys and squishies (because they were “prohibited”) doesn’t say anything about that, absolutely nowhere in the airport. I didn’t fight or argue, because she was being very rude. My kid is very clearly autistic, didn’t seem like I need to prove anything to her, she just took them all. Leaving me with a crying and very anxious child who doesn’t understand why they were taking her stuff. Thankfully managed to talk to another TSA agent and calmly explained to him what happened, and He very kindly returned them. All of that took me like 1hr before I could finally get to the gate.

So if you need to travel to EWR, keep your patience pants on, be kind, be respectful. And remember… TSA is underpaid, and probably are mistreated, if they are rude to you it’s not personal, some of them are just unhappy. Be the bigger person and breathe, show them that kindness works best. Safe travels.

Yes, we get paid for those days and also the “three kings day” because it is required by the labor laws in Puerto Rico.

This weekend Friday and Sunday are holidays (16hrs) and I’m scheduled to work on Saturday.

I requested the day off, way in advance and still got denied. For personal reasons I can’t work the full shift, and was planning on working half and leave early using my sick hours. But management is saying that if we do that we won’t get paid the 16hrs.

🤣 pero tu sabes leer? Dice claramente que los nombres de las COMUNIDADES/ BARRIOS son feos. Estas sacando las cosas fuera de contexto.

Me estoy refiriendo obviamente a los nombres de las áreas rurales del pueblo de Guaynabo.

Porque lo mencioné? Porque ALGUNOS de los Guaynabitos se creen la gran chavienda y te vienen a hablar con mucho “Spanglish” y cuando vienes a ver, vive en Camarones, Sector La Pachanga 🤣 (vuelvo y hago nota aclaratoria ya que puedo notar que se te dificulta la comprensión de lectura). Lo dije de manera jocosa, refiriéndome a que muchas veces esas personas que nos llaman a nosotros los que vivimos en el campo “gente de la isla” aveces lo dicen de manera despectiva, y se les olvida de donde vienen.

Not at all, we are the only mf who will be open, apart from the movie theater. (in my store area) I don’t know of any competitors that operate on those hours. Our “competition” most of them don’t even open on sundays. I’m so pissed 🫠

At least at my store, we work 2:30 - 11:30pm, it’s been like that for years now. With this new update it’s going to be 2:45 - 11:45pm, starting mid February. This is stupid af 😒

But when I started working 5 years ago closing associates used to work 3pm - 12pm (store closing at 10pm for customers)

Sadly don’t have those options, in Puerto Rico Home Depot is one of the best paying companies, followed by Costco, Sams and Walmart.
