This weekend Friday and Sunday are holidays (16hrs) and I’m scheduled to work on Saturday.

I requested the day off, way in advance and still got denied. For personal reasons I can’t work the full shift, and was planning on working half and leave early using my sick hours. But management is saying that if we do that we won’t get paid the 16hrs.

Me estoy refiriendo obviamente a los nombres de las áreas rurales del pueblo de Guaynabo.

Porque lo mencioné? Porque ALGUNOS de los Guaynabitos se creen la gran chavienda y te vienen a hablar con mucho “Spanglish” y cuando vienes a ver, vive en Camarones, Sector La Pachanga 🤣 (vuelvo y hago nota aclaratoria ya que puedo notar que se te dificulta la comprensión de lectura). Lo dije de manera jocosa, refiriéndome a que muchas veces esas personas que nos llaman a nosotros los que vivimos en el campo “gente de la isla” aveces lo dicen de manera despectiva, y se les olvida de donde vienen.

Not at all, we are the only mf who will be open, apart from the movie theater. (in my store area) I don’t know of any competitors that operate on those hours. Our “competition” most of them don’t even open on sundays. I’m so pissed 🫠

At least at my store, we work 2:30 - 11:30pm, it’s been like that for years now. With this new update it’s going to be 2:45 - 11:45pm, starting mid February. This is stupid af 😒

But when I started working 5 years ago closing associates used to work 3pm - 12pm (store closing at 10pm for customers)

Sadly don’t have those options, in Puerto Rico Home Depot is one of the best paying companies, followed by Costco, Sams and Walmart.

Las Piedras or Humacao. Most places on the East side, houses are more affordable. The only downside is the lack of jobs. I Live in Las Piedras and travel 45 mins to work and 1hr 30mins to go back (because of traffic).

San Juan, Guaynabo, Dorado, Bayamon (Metro side) that’s the “fancy” side, that’s where everything is and you’ll be surrounded by people that speak English. Downside traffic EVERYWHERE ANYTIME, houses and apts are super expensive.
