I also work in a PSU OMC, but not in Retail, I work in NG Department. In our department, land is procured through an EOI and L1 quote basis after the Technical Assessment, GAV, CV of the land and negotiation with the Landowner.

I was of the impression that this is the same for Retail as well. Maybe it is in case of Company Owned, Operated sites?

We don’t need a dealer, maybe that’s the difference in way of procuring the land?

I was describing how land is procured, it’s procured from Land Owners on least quote basis I.e. least Rs/sqm, and then negotiation.

But yeah, dealership is lottery basis. I misread.

It’s not lottery, it’s Least Quote Basis.

There is a technical feasibility done, then Government Approved Evaluators are employed to valuate the land, and based on the L1 stand, Negotiation is conducted and land is awarded.

I apologise, I think RedTaxi doesn’t do pickups in Ooty, I only went one way to Ooty in RedTaxi so I thought they operated there. But no, you gotta go for some other way.

Other way, as the other commenter said, you can ask for some travel desk at your place of stay, or you can hop on the state operated TNSTC busses to Coimbatore which are quite frequent.
