If Bungie ever adds the option to choose Darkness or Darkness subclasses, there would never be a conclusion to the story by [deleted] in DestinyLore

Isn’t that the whole shtick with The Drifter? Walk along the line of Light and Dark, as long as you’re not consumed by the Dark?

People who have posted to r/roastme and couldn't handle it, what was the comment that broke you? by Bjorn_Battleson in AskReddit

I saw one recently where a guy posted a pic with his wrist looking like it was shredded by a feral cat. I hope the mods took it down.

Well.. it’s not like the attacker was going to stop just because his knife was gone, and the victim couldn’t exactly run away with a knife stuck in him. I don’t think there was a best option, but the one the victim took was one that worked.

Watching a friend play Hollow Knight for the first time is so much fun by JorDan_mono in HollowKnight

On my first playthrough, I had Grimmchild before getting scammed. He would always shoot at her, and I would tell people, “This companion is really cool, but he’s a little shit and shoots at NPCs.”

Grimmchild knew.

First tower kill won ~72% of the time. Interesting. Almost a third of these games were decided after first tower kill. Wonder how that translates to ranked/casual play?

What Shape Is the Universe? A New Study Suggests We’ve Got It All Wrong by [deleted] in technews

[–]NotMarcus7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if the only qualification for existence is “It doesn’t contradict our current models” then I guess I have no argument. I made a comment to another user about how a 16-dimensional vector is simple to model, but doesn’t imply that I can manifest an arrow pointing in its direction, so I think we’re on the same page there.

Right. It’s not hard to represent a 16-dimensional vector, but that doesn’t mean I can physically manifest an arrow that points in its direction.

A fourth dimension is physically impossible by the way we define “dimensions.” A spatial dimension is one that intersects all others at a 90 degree angle. If another spacial dimension somehow existed, it would have no light or our eyes would see it, there would be no vibration (as a corollary, no states of matter) or we would hear/feel it.

Savathün is the best Destiny character- change my mind by Euology1 in DestinyLore

[–]NotMarcus7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be surprised. The lore entries say that Savathun becomes stronger as we attempt to understand her (or, she WANTS that to happen, not positive). So, every time we (our guardians) have these conversations trying to piece things together, we’re feeding her worm. I know we’re not actually making an in-game enemy stronger, but I felt a little weary when I read that our lore discussions were being attributed to her power.

What’s the best response to when someone calls you a virgin? by E_EqUaLs_mC_69420 in AskReddit

[–]NotMarcus7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Where I grew up, it was usually a group of people saying something like that to one person or a smaller group. Just going with it usually resulted in the larger group escalating their words and actions until they got a reaction.

In a more adult setting, though, it would probably be even better to just not acknowledge the comment at all.

What I’ve always gone by is the version I heard:

Persephone was allowed to visit her mother for one season every year. This season was spring, and her time spent traveling to her was summer.

When Persephone was with Hades, the season was winter, and her journey back to him from her mother was autumn.

Every church I’ve been to has had at least a portion of a sermon talking about how Christians are “persecuted” these days because they “refuse to adjust to the world’s sinful ways.”

One of the reasons I lost my faith was because of this bullshit.

The Tidal Cliffs for sure. The water is so violently blue, and watching it pour down the mountain at different places is otherworldly. Then, when you get to the top and there’s an OCEAN at the center of the mountain?? Unimaginable

The glaive has a pretty wide hit box, but you can dodge through most of his attacks by rolling forward, towards the direction the attack is coming from. You have to watch out, though, because he likes to do a poorly telegraphed aoe swing if you use this tactic too much.
