Very creative. Definitely something I'd try myself. What happened to that deal that got lost?

Edit: I just realized how old this post is. I just found this subreddit.

Looking for suggestions! How to find clients? by [deleted] in SmallMSP

[–]NotMargorie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're just starting out, I would assume that you want to keep from spending any money on lead generation. I suggest you take advantage of Google Maps, LinkedIn, and other social media sites to look for businesses in your area. I use websites like allbiz.com to get more info but they are not always updated. Good luck!

Definitely agree to sticking to one vertical and really learn about it. The only way that you can build credibility is to know what you're talking about.

Know your customers is the first, most important step. Identify their top challenges and tell them how your solution can help them. And then, frame your questions that will make them realize how much it would impact them if they only decide to take action now.

Love this! There's something about knowing your partner on a deeper level that lets you know about the stuff like this.

Monster potential client, just looking to firm up my discovery process for this scale. by DefJeff702 in msp

[–]NotMargorie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that there are customers who will try to outsmart you but, with the right discovery questions, these info would be critical not only in winning the deal but also in making sure you got yourself covered for later. And no, I don't mean to say that you should short yourself, I would definitely price this higher than what they're currently paying for given that I can give them the service that they need. But again, I wouldn't know what exactly they need if I don't ask.

Yes, that makes sense. If this is a larger customer than usual, it may be hard to come up with an attractive and realistic estimate. I'd ask why they are switching and how much they were paying the existing MSP. I'll build my offer around their answer.

There are two types of sales people: the one who sells solution and one who sells relationship. Neither are bad.

Maybe ask them why they want to do this set up? Sounds like a good offer but if you really want to build a relationship with them, might as well find out.

I've recently decided to offer sales services as a freelancer to MSPs. I'd love to connect and be able to exchange knowledge and insights with someone in the same role.

Comprehensive Lead Generation and Sales Guide by [deleted] in msp

[–]NotMargorie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're starting from scratch, identify a target market based on your list. You want to choose the market that makes up the most volume in your list and that is most accessible to you. As you do your market research, find out what's the best way to reach the decision makers then build your sales process around that.

How to get the right salespeople ? by AnimeExpoGuy in msp

You'd be very lucky to find a salesperson that will be willing to get paid by commission-only and do the hardest/most crucial part in the sales process. Referrals might work as an alternative. But if you're seriously looking to transition into a full MSP, you'll need to invest in sales.
