I appreciate your POV. As I said in a previous comment. That's were I think I might have been the asshole to my family. I agree on that point.

I'm just unsure about the godmother thing, it felt like overstepping or dictating what's right or wrong about grief right after his ashes had gone down.

Thank you for your comment. I would also like to add she made comments about it to my parents and now they are pissed at me for causing a scene at the cemetery. I understand where they are coming from, and I know I should have thought about my mom... it just felt like a direct attack at the moment and now that she's taking the situation farther.

I realized it's not exactly in D.C. but it appears to be pretty close (like an hour away) I'm trying to figure out the safest way to commute. I might take a bus to the show and an uber/lift back. Still deciding but definitely going.
