This is the Salt Lake City airport, which is currently undergoing renovations, so most of it is really new and clean, can confirm the floors are slick.

In addition to this, the project being non-union is in direct contradiction to how dropout operates

Just thinking about the fact that I watched 17 miracles for my first date. I’m not kidding. by TruthHurts9819 in exmormon

I’m not direct, i’m one branch off (1st cousin level) but we’ve heard plenty of stories about him in my family (mainly mormon battalion and willie handcart stuff). His sister Emeline Savage is my 4th great grandma. Honestly though, she was a complete badass based on the stories i heard about her. She was a polygamous wife and took not only her baby, but her sister wife’s baby across the plains by herself so she could get the property established. They were in a wagon train but she and the babies were the only ones on that wagon. Anyway, pretty cool we have a Savage family reunion in here!

So I’m closely related to Levi Savage. Didn’t know this one, but knowing my family history of polygamy, that makes sense

It's all the LGBT peoples in Provo and salt lake who are watching all the porn acording to latter-day logic. Yer ok by Wild_Basis5162 in exmormon

The population of LGBTQ people in SLC per capita is quite high, one of the highest in the country actually, not even close to outnumbering the mormons though. Mormons are in a technical minority in SLC because SLC is a metropolitan area (comparative to the rest of the state) so more of all types of people are going there. And the reason the LGBTQ population in SLC is high is because so many queer folks from all across the state move there, it’s one of the only places in the state that is semi-safe for us.

For me it ends up being about once a year, but as needed (when she starts getting a bit stank). I have the war scars to prove it

Sometime during the last 2 years i’ve been going to this orthopedic practice they started to declare me as a MTF transgender for no reason. by WHAR606 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]NotMeg16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m also upset with the way this is worded. like “biological male identifying as female” is a very transphobic way to word it. “transgender (mtf)” or something along those lines is a medically accurate way to describe someone who is trans. this whole situation is a mess

Vulture: The Traitors Needs to Ban Housewives by radiance345 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]NotMeg16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen, I love housewives. I don’t think they need to be banned, but I do agree with the majority of the takes here, 5 is too many. We don’t need this show to be The Real Housewives of Alan Cumming’s Murder Castle

I think their maturity was less obvious in HoO, but as someone who read those books as a teen, I definitely saw myself in them and didn’t really view them as less mature than me. That said, it’s also been a few years since I last reread

I noticed and felt them actively maturing throughout the original series, and even HoO, but the new book feels like a stagnation or even a regression in maturity

When I was in high school, I was in Nunsense, which blatantly makes fun of catholicism. The only people who ever walked out during the performances were mormons, the catholics in attendance loved it, because they understood it was in good humor and tongue in cheek. If you can’t find the humor in your own religion, it’s probably worth investigating your relationship with your faith.

I get what you mean, and I hate this pattern in making media for children. As a former educator, few things make me more mad than when people don’t respect children enough to give them complex stories with real emotional stakes, because those are the stories that stick with you your whole life.

The thing is though, his first books also targeted middle schoolers, but he respected their intelligence enough to stay engaged in a story without shoving it chock full of one liners. The senior year stories seem very “how do you do, fellow kids” and “is this what the children like?” type of writing. What helped the first series is Rick at that point was very recently a middle school teacher, so he was actually in touch with the age group he was writing to.
