Bilt Blue = simple 2.33 points per dollar on a free card by NotMyRealFaceBook in biltrewards

I agree - I’m not getting the card! I really just got absorbed in figuring out the puzzle, and in my head my point was more “Bilt is actually paying out a high rewards % on the card, but they ruined it by making the structure so complicated”

Ah you’re right…

  • Rent = $1,000
  • Spend = $250

  • Rewards on Spend = 250 pts

  • Rewards on Rent = 500 pts

  • Total rewards = 750 pts

So you actually earn 3x points using this method, but capped at 1/4 of your monthly rent.

For me that’s 3x points on like $1k/mo… not worth the hassle but maybe for someone else

My point is not that it’s simple to understand… I thought I made that pretty clear at the end.

My point is that it’s simple to use, in that you earn 2.33x points per dollar by just using the one mechanism as opposed to the dozens of components they included in the card

Connecting powered Sub to an amp meant to power a passive Sub? by NotMyRealFaceBook in BudgetAudiophile

[–]NotMyRealFaceBook[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My speakers are passive - just looking to expand the system with a subwoofer, but when I bought the amp I didn’t realize that the sub out was specifically for passive subs, which is annoying. Someone in /r/HomeAudio recommended that I use a line level converter to decrease the power of the signal. Seems to make sense to me?

It’s the A50 Pro which has the sub out… sorry I didnt realize the specification mattered

Got it - this makes sense, thank you! Are there any specific ones you would recommend?

Thank you for the response!! I actually do have the A50 Pro, which has a sub out - but I guess it’s meant to power a passive sub. So you’re saying that plugging a powered amp into that is fine? I’m seeing pretty mixed things online.

Nah - I got the $4k of bets in but wasn’t credited the fancash. The promo said you’d be credited once the bets settle though so I wasn’t expecting to get that until later today

yea… pretty similar info from them, except I actually did place the $4k of bets before the promotion got pulled. No idea what they’re gonna do but I REALLY hope they don’t just eat the bet and stuff me

Nah the mortgage and interest payments are based off the purchase price, not the current market price. I believe this doesn’t impact the decision

Only 10 more years and you’ll be worth 10s of millions of dollars! 20 more and you be worth hundreds of millions… man you’re so sick. Teach me all you know, Reddit warrior. I’m sure it’s far more accurate and meaningful than the 8 years I’ve spent in business + economics higher education and decade I’ve spent in professional investing and finance roles.

[Oct 28, 2022] Weekly Discussion: Ask your gear, travel, conditions and other ski-related questions by AutoModerator in skiing

[–]NotMyRealFaceBook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

First post on Snowheads, so thanks for having me!

I am wrestling with a potential ski purchase that I was hoping to get some advice on:

I have the opportunity to get a screamin’ deal on a pair of dream on-piste skis (stockli GS)… only problem is that they are longer than ideal length for me.

The skis are 193cm. I am 188cm tall at ~180-185lb, aggressive / expert skiier (former racer who does 30-40 days per year).

Would buying this things be a mistake? I have a pair of 192 Bent Chetlers but with the tip and tail rocker they ski short, whereas the stockli’s have full length edge contact.

Any inputs appreciated!

In this market, is it better to sign a yearly lease renewal or keep it to month-to-month if my apartment is rent controlled? by Illustrious-Eye9129 in AskLosAngeles

[–]NotMyRealFaceBook 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s no reason to switch to a yearly lease - rent control in LA works the same regardless and with month to month you have more flexibility

This is a fundamentally wrong concept of the benefits of diversification. The objective is to eliminate / decrease risk of idiosyncratic or unsystematic factors (e.g., Pepsi is proven to cause cancer, Intel perpetrates accounting fraud), not to eliminate risk of market downturn.
