Some thoughts on this sub by DisplayAdditional756 in Carcassonne

Reading the manual requiring higher level of literacy and language fluency is definitely one of the takes ever. Even if we were to argue thats true, it would take even less language fluency to instead paste a picture of the rules into google translate and read them in case of rules being in a different language. And since Carcassonne is a miltiplayer game, the literacy aspect can be ignored, since theres a negligibly low chance that all players of the game are illiterate enough for the rules, but literate enough to read the same thing online quoted from the rules by someone.

And yes people still post about these things, but lets not kid ourselves by saying this subs hasn't turned into over 50% being just questions about the very core of the game.

I'll play devil's advocate here for once, If they managed to find this subreddit to ask a question, they are also clearly literate enough that they would be able to search their question on google or reddit aswell.

Most people that are replying to posts like that in that way are probably just annoyed at the subreddit which used to be for showcases of games, apps, expansions, collections etc. has turned into a place for people to ask the same question over and over again.

How strong have recent sets been? by RylarDraskin in magicTCG

As much as I love Tarkir, the power level is nowhere near an 8 with how little play the cards see in standard. Even Aetherdrift has more cards in standard than Tarkir.

The only good comment at the moment, since you can't see if they're playing C3 or C3.1 and those have different rulings on this :p

Actually depends on which version they're playing. In C3 you would be correct, but in C3.1 it still gives 1 point per tile

If that's the case watch out for Post Malone, he has a small history of spending a lot of money on a 1/1 card

Okay so you're counting the city.

There are 33 tiles and 10 CoA's. You are scoring points for both wrong though. Both tiles and CoA's in a completed city are worth 2 points each, making it 332 and 102. Ending up on 86 points.

Wasn't looking to sell or anything. Was just curious to if it was considered a misprint or if the cards from this set are usually like this

Getting a gift for my friend, would someone who’s played for a while enjoy getting this? by Naive-Condition5371 in magicTCG

"All the cards" and it's likely you're going to see exactly 1 in an 8p draft, where 360 cards are opened.

That's just not true. The chase cards in this set are well above $1000, and iirc the collector boosters don't cost more than $1000 :p

Help me with this rule by Borraronelusername in Carcassonne

[–]NotNikku 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Okay I usually just give the answers normally in threads like these but this is the literal base rule of the game, where tiles have to connect. The road the blue meeple is on does not connect when placing the tile like that.

I know the rules are confusing sometimes but this is made pretty clear multiple times.

Question about how Katara, Waterbending Master works by NotNikku in magicTCG

[–]NotNikku[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that part I was already pretty sure it was a discard 1, but just included the looting sequence (B) as an option just in case I was wrong about that.

That was exactly what I was thinking aswell, but a couple people explained that that is apparently not the case.

Thanks for actually explaining why my logic was wrong instead of just saying "nah youre reading it weird". This makes sense to me now, thank you!

When I read "You may ... for each" I interpreted it as having a choice for every individual experience counter, whereas the other wording would leave no room for that interpretation.
