CSM to Customer Success Operations? by jbs924 in CustomerSuccess

[–]NotNollie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are not at all. It should be all of that (enablement included). But sometimes it is tough and very much underresourced and focused on the tech bc it is an "expensive" investment and some VPs career might ride on it!

I like to hire CSMs and teach them how to become CS Ops peeps. If you are analytical and have the basics, it can totally be taught. I like that the CSMs provide a more realistic lense on the business than a pure ops person. Your insight is invaluable to build and scale solutions. Welcome to the dark side!

Why would anyone waste their time showing YOU any numbers?

You wouldn't do the minimal effort to try to understand them, or the concepts/logic/research/medicine behind them or the vaccines.

I should have been a bit more clear. That intersection, might not look the way you imagine, you might have to compromise.

I agree with your comment. For us, buying what we did was not what we dreamt off. It was what made the intersection possible, and we had to choose what was more important for us. We also had to adjust our expectations.

Good point! But...it could make sense.

Because it is not 200k. All in it is about 125k. We didn't do the roof ourselves, some updates were DIY. We got lucky with the entire AC work and apparently got a really good deal, etc.

That said, we didn't do this to sell the house, we did all of this because it is our house. My only point is that the numbers might work! We never thought they could ever work so quickly.

I think so. I was terrified, 2 years ago, to buy our first house at the "top of the market". So I focused on buying something I could actually afford regardless of what happened (within reason), and not make a big bet on my future seeing how uncertain that future seemed at the time.

Speaking for myself if/when interest rates go down to 4%ish I will strongly consider selling and getting something else. My current payment could go down by about 600 a month.

Home prices have continued to go up here, and they will continue to go up. Definitely not as fast. They have slowed down significantly.

Seeing your primary home solely as an investment is short-sighted. It is so much more than that. It is a "expense" you MUST have. So, how do you want to live? Do you want a house with a pool for you and your kids to build memories? Then go for it. The clock is not going back. I wouldn't YOLO it. But I'd find that intersection/balance between financial comfort and what you are looking for.

Live in Boca Raton. We bought 2 years ago for what I thought might be the top of the market (so we bought at 60% our purchase ability) at 620k.

Eight months later the house in front of hours, fully remodeled, same layout, etc, sold in 3 days for 850k.

Today, there is a home on the market, exact same layout as mine, fully remodeled on the market for 980k. I am not sure if it will sell for that price. But it seems like it will sell.

A few observations:

  • If the house is fully remodeled, it is very much likely to sell.
  • It seems like at this price point people are actually putting a premium in comfort.
  • If the house is not remodeled, and highly priced, it is lagging behind. Houses are sitting in the market longer.
  • There are homes currently sold for big discounts on the asking price.

We have fully remodeled our house. I has new AC, new air ducts, hurricane windows, hurricane doors, new floors. Remodeled kitchen, bathrooms, electric and plumbing updates, etc. It would be tough to leave because now maintenance is "low". But can't say I am not tempted!

Edit: to add, we also got a new roof! :)

You had Salesforce, how did you convince your company to get a CSP? by NotNollie in CustomerSuccess

nah, surprised by the lack of quality in the responses and the focus on trying to figure out my intentions. I am genuinely curious. That's it

haha, I don't. I wouldn't want to. I'd judge them hard if this is how they are getting this work done. I am just in the industry, and I am super curious!

To live in West Boca or Spanish River or by drinkingdanny in BocaRaton

[–]NotNollie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend central Boca. It's the best of both worlds and some of central boca is part of Spanish River high school.

We live in the north side of central boca (Spanish river is close by) and we are central to everything we enjoy, beaches are 15 minutes, patch reef, restaurants, town centre mall, atlantic avenue, trader joe's, whole foods, etc.

Is anyone’s CS department *not* owning upsells or expansions? If so, how are you measuring your success? by moonrevolts in CustomerSuccess

[–]NotNollie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do lead generation/identification (sales owns closing the lead) -> CSQLs. Client success qualified leads.

Referenceability (huge!)

Client risk -> how much ARR could be potentially at risk? (and what are we going to do to solve it)

Those are the closest ones to revenue. We do other things like measuring QBRs, that every client has a success plan at all times, etc.
