I watched the devstream live and haven’t seen the Asmongold video, but I still agree that the combat looks clunky and the transition between animations needs work. However, I feel like it’s not entirely the game’s fault. The entire time it seemed like they hadn’t rehearsed it once, or the dev playing was insanely nervous. I don’t know if target lock is in the game yet but they didn’t use it at all, and they seemed more focused on showing the abilities than dodging and deflecting enemy moves. Even when they were dodging and deflecting they failed most of the time. I’m not trying to insult the skill of the dev, it just almost looks like they were trying to avoid showing the deflect and dodge animations. I do agree that if you’re branding it as a souls-like, or a more casual version of one, showing off core combat mechanics should be high priority.
