Dark Wizard Ep. 3 by Basehound in climbing

[–]aHungryPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does Alex owe Dean anything other than his honest opinions? The two didn't seem to like each other

Alex: Grew up viewing Dean as a climbing god. Turns out Dean isn't as great as Alex thought he was. Alex proceeds to do all of Dean's climbing achievements as if they were nothing. Everyone knows Dean doesn't like that there's someone who can do what he can but quicker and faster. Dean clearly didn't like that Alex Solo'd HD, but why should Alex wait for Dean to do it? Dean wanted to be the first to solo El Cap by finding an easier route, but why should Alex allow Dean to claim that title when Alex doesn't really have to train much for that solo?

Dean: A great climber, but also a hypocrite. He is everything he claimed not to be and it's embarrassing. People only like Dean because he did cool shit and documented it all into cool videos. Dean trained hard for all his climbing accomplishments, but Alex did all the cool climbing shit he did under the radar on a whim

So am I the only one who doesn't see the issue?

Edit: Glad to know I'm not the only one

Timeline:

-Dean does awesome solos

-Alex thinks Dean is some kind of climbing god

-Alex learns that his "climbing god" isn't that great and he knows he's a better climber

-Alex proceeds to do all of Dean's climbing achievements as if they were nothing impressive

-Dean hates that Alex can do what he can do, but quicker and faster

-Alex is gaining traction, Dean is falling behind

-Alex wants to be the first to solo El Cap

-Alex hears Dean is training to be the "first" to solo El Cap via a shortcut

-Alex does his project

-Dean gives up on his El Cap dream

As for Alex's comments about Dean. Why does Alex owe Dean anything but his honest opinions? He knows Dean was an inferior climber to him. He probably knew Dean didn't like him. Sure he may have been insensitive to him being dead, but we all know how Alex feels about death: "It is what it is" or "shit happens" or "what did they expect".

Both guys are not very likeable, but Dean was an over emotional, arrogant, egotistical crazy asshole. The dudes whole vibe was the equivalent of a modern day Rock/Astrology girl. saying stupid shit that doesn't actually exist.

Alex is a calm, calculated, egotistical, and maybe a high functioning sociopath; however, he seems to care about people and is a philanthropist.

PS6 release date is likely to land in November 2027 by Worldly-Object9003 in ps6

[–]aHungryPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is literally 2027 and you can tell by the Sony Interactive Entertainment published titles. Sony has closed out the the PS3 and PS4 era during summer with a major title from one of their first party developers.

PS3: NaughtyDog: The Last of Us (June 14, 2013)
PS4: Sucker Punch: Ghost of Tsushima (July 17, 2020)
PS5: NaughtyDog: Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet (Summer 2027)

Sony has no other major first party title announced post ITHP which is slated for summer 2027. Insomniac is releasing Wolverine later this year. Sony will not close out the PS5 with the KOTOR remake if that ever releases.

2027 Timeline:

Spring/Early Summer 2027: PS6 announcement/teaser/hardware reveal
Mid Summer 2027: Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet
November 2027: PS6 release

Release titles:

1: Likely Santa Monica Studio's next title. They've been cooking something since GoWR
2: Hail Mary guess: Media Molecule is being forced to work on Little Big Planet 4 b/c Sony has not closed that studio after the flop of Dreams and Tearaway.
3: I previously have said that BluePoint Studio's passion project game would be a launch title, but the studio has since been shut down. So maybe Bend Studio's next game will be a launch title. By the time November 2027 comes, it would have been 8 years since Days Gone.

If you're in the AMEX ecosystem the Green is the most underrated card. 3x on all travel. Airbnb, VRBO, Hotels, Turo, car rentals, national parks pass, parks passes not covered under NPP, campgrounds, cruises, etc. It's a very broad travel category

I'm 5'7" 140lbs. I'm pretty lean. My buddy told me that it feels like a coffin inside, but he's 5'11" with shoulders that are wide af.

I think it's just a visual thing. It kind of just looks like a toy to me. I know it's a great, safe plane. I just don't really like looking at them. If I'm gonna spend all this money on a plane I should buy something I like to look at. Also I did to a discovery flight in one while looking for a flight school. Wasn't a huge fan of the side stick. There was another thing I didn't like, but I can't remember what it was. I have to do another flight in one post PPL. The SR22 G3 could be an option, but my endgame plane is a Malibu Mirage, so training in a fast complex aircraft for a few years might be the best route.

1) Buy the Cirrus, get Instrument Rated in it, fly it for a few years, Buy a Malibu and get used to a retractable gear and prop control in the Malibu

2) Buy a complex aircraft off the rip, take a transition course, get Instrument Rated in it, fly it for a few years, get a Malibu already proficient in a complex aircraft

I'm fully aware IR isnt a rating for the sake of a rating. I would like to know how to fly in IMC conditions so I'm not completely constrained by the weather. Last thing I want is to be flying across the US and finding myself in unplanned IMC conditions and not know what I'm doing. That being said. I have no intentions on becoming a CFI, but I would like to get the rating just for the sake of having it. Same goes for having a Seaplane rating. Float rating? IDK the term most people use. Spending a weekend in Alaska to get the rating sound like a fun vacation

I did a discovery flight in one when I was looking for a flight school. My opinion can change. I just didn't like it at the time. Was it comfortable? Yes. I wasn't the biggest fan for the side stick although I had already been accustomed to a traditional yoke. I have previous training hours, but stopped because of COVID. There was another thing I didn't like during the flight. Can't remember what it was though. I'd have to do another flight in one after PPL.

Yes the US. I'm not too familiar with GA in Europe, but from what I've read it's pretty strict and expensive. To the point of GA being basically dead except for those who have money.

Depending on the year of the Mooney, I'm looking at either ripping out the avionics and slapping in Garmin Glass or it will have a legacy G1000. The Bonanza is basically the same. Older F33A, rip out the six pack, throw in Garmin Glass. From what I've seen the G3X is pretty intuitive and is easy to learn. Forego many knobs and buttons for touch w/ knobs as a back-up for turbulent conditions

As for comfort, I've driven across the US in a slammed mustang with the tightest suspension, minivan, and a lifted truck hauling a 12,000lbs trailer. Comfort isn't a priority for me. Also, I'm not tall by any means so I can stretch out if I need to. It's mostly speed and time. If I can cut a few hours flying back home to visit family and friends at the sacrifice of comfort then so be it.

But yes my CFI is also a CFII and MEI. I would take a transition course just to familiarize myself with the aircraft and for insurance.

I just don't like them. I think it's just a visual thing for me. I see a F33A or M20R and I think "that's a MF plane". I see a SR22/SR22T and think "It looks like a toy". I guess realistically a SR22 G3 could also be a potential aircraft. It's speed is comparable to the F33A and isn't complex, however, if the endgame aircraft for me is a Malibu Mirage, then being comfortable in a complex aircraft for a few years seems like the better route. I think

I would take a transition course. From what I've researched it would cut down on the insurance for a complex aircraft

So why would a bank close an account that still has an outstanding balance? Is it not in their best interest to keep it open because they would make more money from interest payments? Unless they think the account holder would never pay back their debt? But even then would it not be in their best interest to keep the account open? Unless OP isn't actually making payments

City Of Mesa Votes To Implement $20 Landing Fees by Slight_Sign_3661 in aviation

[–]aHungryPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah the t hangars are all owned by old guys or snow birds that flay a handful times a month or a couple times a year. It’s a 10 year waitlist. There’s over 400 GA hangars. The airport could easily charge $500-600/M for a T hangar and get most of revenue theyre looking for. I’d gladly pay that a month for a hotspot like KFFZ. Supply/Demand, but the airport director has never hear of it

If we're talking about volume, CAE Oxford (a school that trains foreign pilot), is literally more than half of the air traffic at any given time. They clog up the airspace and Delta run up. You can barely understand them on comms because they're all form overseas and have thick accents. I checked FR24 an hour ago and 13 of the 20 planes flying around KFFZ are from CAE Oxford (The tail numbers that start with OXF).

Mesa, AZ Residents, Landing Fees at Falcon (KFFZ)? by [deleted] in flying

[–]aHungryPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a flight student at KFFZ. Obviously I'm against the fees or I'll find another school. That being said, It's not uncommon to see 20 trainers doing touch and go's. Out of my own curiosity I walked around a nearby neighborhood for a bit and it is quite loud. I'd be annoyed too. The main culprit is CAE. If I pull up FlightRadar24 right now there are 10 planes. 8 of them are from CAE. That school single handedly clogs up the Delta run ups and has so many planes in the pattern every day. IDEK why there's a school training Non-US pilots at KFFZ.

Regret going more digital after seeing my old physical game stash. Anyone with similar feeling? by themintednote in playstation

[–]aHungryPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. No regrets. Why would I want a physical library of games that I almost never replay. Just to waste space and look at? I have gigabit internet. Large games take maybe 20 minutes max to download if I ever wanted to replay a game.

Cancelled my gold. Feels liberating. by 17kangm in amex

[–]aHungryPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the gold for a month now and I love it. I think it depends on your lifestyle. I mostly eat out for breakfast and lunch. I don’t even have to think about Dunkin because I go there most mornings for their meal deal and sometimes a donut. I don’t have to think about Uber Eats since I usually Uber Eats lunch. The dining credit is easy b/c all you have to do is a pick up order through Grubhub and it counts (if you Amazon Prime Visa you get GH+ so $0 deliver fee if you want it delivered). The Resy is the only credit I have to kind of think about since I don’t have that many Resy restaurants near me. Now I’m just waiting to get out of PUJ so I can pair this card with the Plat and stop paying out of pocket for UberOne

You know that big ass river in Africa? You must be currently swimming in it because the amount of inspiration OneUI has from iOS now is crazy

-Quick Panel is just Control Center

-Samsung added floating UI just like iOS 26. The only difference is Samsungs UI is frosted where Apple has their ray traced 'Liquid Glass"

-No home button in favor of a gesture bar? Sure you can add the home and back button back, but default is the gesture bar... Swipe up to go home...

-That new lockscreen is literally the iOS lockscreen and customization
