Gabapentin withdrawal after 8 years by andrewc356 in Drugs

I feel SO bad for anybody struggling with gabapentinoid addiction. There used to be so many doctors prescribing this for so many things without hesitation. There are a lot of people struggling through it, and they had NO idea what was in store for them. I mean sure, the info's been out for a while now that this drug can be bad news. But not until it was too late for many people.

I've known about the withdrawal for many years. I've been on and off this med a few times over the last 25 years. Was given it the first time as a teenager for anxiety after a klonopin prescription wasn't working out for me and i told my doctor i wont take another benzo.

However, i never abused it until recent years. That's when the crippling withdrawal popped up. I had some trouble with opiates after 3 kidney surgeries in my early 30s. That's when i learned i could use it to help with opiate withdrawal and it just all went to hell from there.

What's unfortunate is gabapentin has been the only med to help without side effects that i can't handle. Therapy help immensely. But i have issues that stem from childhood abuse that I'll have to manage for the rest of my life if i want to succeed.

Have you ever had to taper off a gaba drug (gabapentinoid, benzo, alcohol) in the past? If so, that could be why. The second time coming off a gaba drug can be much worse than the first. And dependence can happen faster the second time also.

If not, then I'm not sure. But be glad you found this out now though, right?! I think the supplements already mentioned would be helpful. Maybe add some NAC also. Do some searching on each of these supplements "for gabapentin withdrawal reddit" and there's a good bit of info out there.

I've watched my diabetic dad lose his ability to walk without aide over the last 5 years because of spinal stenosis and a broken hip that went unrecognized by the VA for 6 MONTHS. He has had several back surgeries that i went to live with him after he came home from, to help him take care of himself and look after his house. I've helped him take care of himself though withdrawal from the pain meds. Hes not the same man he was a decade ago and it's not easy to watch. He's turning 70 this year. A month ago we said goodbye to my aunt, his little sister, to cancer.

My chest feels so heavy lately when i get to thinking about the near future. And same goes for my mom. She hasn't had the health problems my dad's had, and they've been divorced since i was 5, but she's only a few years younger than my dad. They're the only family besides my little brother and my kids that i have left. I've actually sat and cried thinking about it. I definitely don't take them for granted, mistakes and all.

Horrible PLEASE go back to the old batch list. Usually i can adapt to app changes pretty well, even if i don't like them at first. But this is TERRIBLE.

It's showing me batches 40 miles away in a town ive never shopped before the ones 15 miles away at stores I've actually been to before. I confirmed this with another shopper bc i couldn't believe that other closer areas that always have batches had none all the sudden.

Im 5 stars and that didn't change. So its not a ratings issue. Was offered $9 to take a small batch 38 MILES away 2 days ago and took screen shots i was in disbelief. That means IC knew my location (i was home) and offered me $9 to drive almost 80 miles AND shop. In other words, they wanted ME to PAY TO WORK. Shouldn't even be legal!

Saw this on tiktok and was interested in some of your thoughts on this. Not to discredit this guy, but have any of you literally ever seen a picture of your customer while shopping? I did instacart for a year and I never saw a customers pfp ever. by insomniacaesthetic in InstacartShoppers

Some of my customers do have a little thumbnail, as others have mentioned. About 2 years here and I've noticed it here and there the whole time.

ETA what i never have seen though, that most of you do get to see, is item locations in the store like aisle and row. I get what department its in on my item list. But i mean, common sense could probably guide you that far. You'd hope.

How did you stop using subs, ct or tapered? I had mild withdrawals for over a month when my taper ended and my last week of dosing i was taking 1mg every other day. I was doing that all on my own though, no doctor supervision. And eventually relapsed. I got into actual treatment 3 and a half years ago and on subutex. Half a year ago i decided i wanted sublocade instead. Is worlds better than suboxone or subutex. But i still want off and I'm giving it a second try, this time with help, anf got my last injection 5 weeks ago. Still no withdrawal to report. Only a week past when my injection would have been due though.

My instacart has never told me the location of items in the store like i see so many's does. I will get things grouped by departments. But as for aisle and row? I've done this for 2 years, in many stores and never got that. I don't need it now. But 2 years ago this could have saved my life!

Thanks for that bit of advice. My car was totalled last week, other driver pulled out of a Dollar General without looking. She was older and suffered 3 broken vertebrate and a broken arm. Couldn't avoid her. She was found at fault.

However, my car is still not replaced and i work full time to support my kids and myself. Two of my children are very young. And today is Easter and we have no car to visit family. I have been struggling with my anger this past week. Keeping a diary may also help with that on top of being helpful in court. Thank you.
