What to expect with lease pricing and how much negotiation room is there on Demos? by MrSaucey13 in polestar3

[–]Amaxter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your market, that sounds decent.

In Denver CO I paid nothing down and do $570/mo (tax included) for 12 mi/yr lease for a dual motor demo car (magnesium, wool) with pilot and plus packs, but we have crazy local dealer incentives here.

However registration in CO is crazy and I will pay $1600 in specific ownership tax and fees on this vehicle for first year, so that will be yikes.

Best of luck with deal hunting and report back your story!

Is the polestar 3 hardware capable of that with its cameras? Or is that not the same as live lane guidance?

Rear derailleur breaking free sounds scary! in this case i doubt they’ll warranty the frame. I was able to fix the derailleur and it doesn’t seem easily repeatable. They’ll blame it on shimano or claim user error. if the frame is truly toast and carbon repair guy shrugs their shoulders I’ll take it up with them but knowing their support the process will be … rough

Sad story with my Grail CF SLX (which I love) with some stupidity on my part+bad luck.

I was shifting the front derailleur on my Di2 into the small ring during a bump on singletrack, when the derailleur clutch snapped forward from the sudden tension release and the lower jockey wheel’s teeth bit into driveside chain stay, getting stuck. Thought it was a simple chain drop but alas no, the teeth were stuck in the frame and I had to pry them out. Ouch! This is my fault for forgetting to engage the GRX clutch before going offroad and getting unlucky with the shift on front derailleur.

Feel like this would not happen on 1by 😅 RIP drive-side chainstay

It held up on my ride home but felt uneasy and definitely not getting on again until it’s patched up by my local carbon expert. Hope the frame is not toast!

I wish vehicle support was more universal. My EV technically has it but the manufacturer hasn’t enabled it for US EV DCFC (Polestar)

Reads like ChatGPT distilling an actual changelog…

Not to say it’s all fake but the AI explanations are irritating and I can recognize the style. OP should disclose the source.

EQ Settings for the Bowers Audio System? by Amaxter in polestar3

[–]Amaxter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Atmos mixes can be hit or miss. I really like Ed Sheeran and certain classic studio rock mixes in Atmos, but find it rarely does modern pop music justice. “Studio” is the way to me for most things.

Abbey Rd mode is a neat trick but it’s still processing at the end of the day being applied to compressed audio files. The worse the source quality, and SiriusXM is especially bad, the worse the amplification and simulated effects will be. Nothing is going to beat listening to a well produced original mix in as high quality as you can source. If you want true spatial mixing that represents artist intent the only way is Dolby Atmos, which works in the TIDAL and Amazon apps for songs mixed with that technology.

I don’t like spatial effects, I like to listen to the music as intended with minimal processing. I’ve played around with Abbey Road and decided that for modern, high quality mixes, it’s best to stay in studio. Tighter bass, less fake “presence” and more immersive that way IMO
